My self-summary
First and foremost, I am a misanthrope, but by no means a womanthrope. I particularly do not enjoy spending time in crowded areas, such as clubs, or some bars -- unless there's some good live music that justifies my suffering. I enjoy reading and try my hand at writing short stories. I've played in a jazz/pop band for the past few years and have written some music as well. Music is an odd and subtle constant in my life. Fencing is my sport, after a long foyer into soccer, football, volleyball and cross country. When it comes down to interacting with people I'm overly polite and easy going, I try to avoid conflict on a regular basis and limit socializing--not that I'm afraid of social interaction, I just tend not to like trivialities and small talk.
What I’m doing with my life
I am doing my undergraduate at the University of Ottawa, doing an Honours Specialization in English and a Minor in French. I look to pursue my postgraduate studies in Comparative Literature and eventually become a professor full-time and coach a fencing team part-time, or work in translation... Or if all fails, I'll go to Law School.
I’m really good at
I have reason to believe that I write decently, and I have a wicked Russian accent.
The first things people usually notice about me
In public I'm quiet, but I have a lot to say if someone is willing to engage in a good conversation.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
T.V Shows:
Arrested Development, Adventure Time, Bob's Burgers, Archer, Regular Show, Dr. Who, Sherlock, etc.

I'd have to say my favourite band of recent years has been The New Pornographers; however, I enjoy a lot of different kinds of music, from Chopin, to Cannonball Adderley, Django Reinhardt to Devandra Banhart, I can talk music for quite some time.

Any short story or novel by Kafka, Borges, Balzac, Hemmingway, Conrad, Wilde, Fitzgerald and the like... My literary kink is the Modernists for sure. I enjoyed the Potter series, The Descendants, anything by Douglas Coupland. I'm also pretty into semiotic texts; I enjoyed Foucault's History of Sexuality, Julia Kristeva's The Horror of the Abject, Slavoj Zizek's The Sublime Object of Ideology, Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra and Beyond Good and Evil, Walter Benjamin's discourses on Law, Gilles Deleuze's The Logic of Sense--I have yet to fully flesh out my exploration of semiotic texts.

I enjoy a lot of different kinds of foods, I like to try new cuisine quite often. But I'd have to say perogies are pretty up there... Polish bias.
The six things I could never do without
Good Food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The uncertainties mankind faces in the near future, and how my generation has become drenched in a listless malaise stained by egoism and apathy, plummeting the human condition to alarming new lows.
On a typical Friday night I am
I usually go to fencing practice, and then either hang out with the team or return to my hovel and do homework.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like being alone, but can't help but to admit I'd prefer company some days.
You should message me if
You can make sense of my strangeness/oddness.
