My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, I'm Jacob. Originally from Cardiff, now residing in Glasgow. I like films and I feel it's important I mention that as soon as possible, but I have other interests too. Read on intrepid traveller if these other interests are of, um, interest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently studying my Master's Degree in Film & Television studies, which is my excuse for spending near enough every day watching films, calling it research. I work part-time on the side to support myself and to have enough money that I can experience as much of this city as I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Demetri Martin does a stand-up segment on useless talents. Yeah, that. I have been told by friends though that I'm a pretty good motivator, and I enjoy public speaking and writing on occasion.

The one thing I hope to get good at is dancing. Been majorly into that the last few months, hoping to devote more time to it over the summer.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm very energetic and don't like being inactive. On the same note I'm pretty outgoing and love to talk, I don't tend to shy away.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Films: Only Yesterday, Once Upon a Time in the West, Tony Takitani, Crank High Voltage (WILDCARD!), Singin' in the Rain. Almost innumerable more, and that list of five is constantly changing.

Music: I wouldn't say my taste leans towards anything in particular, but I am a sucker for things that use a banjo (it's in my username for a reason). If something features Bela Fleck I'm pretty much there immediately.

Shows: Pre-Season 10 The Simpsons is the greatest television ever. Other stuff is great, brilliant even, but that classic Simpsons just can't be touched. The Wire, Twin Peaks, Deadwood, Red Dwarf and Shooting Stars are favourites of mine. Trailer Park Boys gets a separate mention as it never ceases to amaze me, all should watch that.

Food: EVERYTHING. The only reason I work out is so I can eat more, and I intend to try as much as I humanly can. One thing I love about living in Glasgow is that you're absolutely spoilt for choice with cafes and restaurants, and I must experience them all.

Books: Shamefully, my reading list is pitiful compared to other mediums. I'm working on it though. Books that have stuck with me include Trinity by Leon Uris, American Pastoral by Philip Roth, the Red Dwarf novels and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Currently reading Iris Chang's The Rape of Nanking, which is tremendously powerful and comes highly recommended, but by god it can make for an uncomfortable read.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Cinema (Going to keep mentioning this one).
Good food.
Good conversation.
A vivid shirt.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Potential writing projects. I've foolishly agreed to co-author a piece with a friend of mine over the summer, on top of my dissertation and some other solo efforts. This keyboard will be worn down to nothing by September.

I also like to think about journeys. A simple pleasure for me is walking out the front door and picking a direction to walk in. No end destination, just walk and see where it takes me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting an early night's sleep in preparation for an early start on Saturday. Working hospitality can be a pain.

If I'm not working, probably go out with some friends. My alcohol tolerance fades further away with each passing day so I don't drink that much, which on the plus side means more money towards trying new things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The third nipple always grabs people's attention. Disclaimer: If you've never seen a third nipple they're pretty disappointing, they're more like moles than actual nipples.

You want to. I'm not going to be one to make silly proclamations that I'm The Best, but I reckon I'm a decent laugh.
