My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
You can either shake hands, or hug. I'm a hugger. I have recently discovered how badly and sincerely some people (many people) just really need a for karma's sake, hug a stranger!

Life is good. Just SO damn good.

The seatbelt in my car is not just a seatbelt. It is an air guitar.

"Walk tall, kick ass, love music, learn to speak Arabic, and never forget you come from a long line of lovers, truth seekers and warriors."
-Hunter S. Thompson

I'm all about balance in life... Work and play, silly and serious, you name it. I want to meet people who I can have hours-long conversations about life, politics, spirituality, etc...and perhaps spend the next hour after that laughing about totally stupid and random stuff! My closest friends are intellectual jackasses - I wouldn't have it any other way. I wouldn't mind the same in a woman.

As you can tell, I love music more than almost anything in the world. I'd love to find someone to explore it with, whether that means going to see a show or hanging on the couch and both of us saying "oh you gotta hear this" over and over while swapping iPods. Kicking back and watching a good flick when the music battle settles down is always fun, so is running out and grabbing a drink, or chatting the rest of the night away, or tandem cooking or getting our dinner at one of the local spots. I like all those scenarios!

Be passionate... I don't care what it's about
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Loving it...crushing it!

My job now I plan to have for a long time - I'm a writer/legislative analyst for an education association, and have the true privilege to play a small role in the fight to better public education in California. Learning more about governance and education policy than I'd ever imagined, and absolutely loving it!

I'm a writer at heart, it is my biggest creative passion and possibly a tool to incite threads of change on some level - because you never know when that can happen, all you can do is put words out there and see what sticks. I'm lucky enough to also have a few column inches each week in the Sac Bee to talk music with our readers. Doesn't suck!

My resume reads like a greased pig but I am extremely proud of things I've been able to do so far professionally. I've been a journalist (mostly about music), teacher, proposal writer, account exec for a PR firm, coach for high school Mock Trial, grant writer, a longshoreman in Kuala Lumpur, and I say a lot of goofy things that aren't true (it's the most fun to do that when teaching high school students, they believe ANYthing).

Trying to find ways to make a difference in the world/people's lives...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not burning down the kitchen when I cook, bein' a friend (did I just get the Golden Girls theme song stuck in your head?), ocular pat-downs, high-fives, analyzing life, hugs, saying random stuff, stringin' words, unicorn wrangling, stirring the pot, being there for the people I love and who love me the most, and using ellipses...

A relative of mine whom I don't get to see much has said that I'm really good at bringing people together. Truly one of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes that thing with my eyes - that takes people awhile though. Some people say I'm tall too?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

"Cause we are all on a journey
but the trip is not the same
And to the same place we are going, from this place we came, so
Hold on tight and enjoy the ride..."

Jeff Tweedy, you are truly a prophet:

Food: Not a damn thing I don't eat

Shows: Must admit...Walking Dead. And House of Cards, Breaking Bad and the Newsroom (mostly for skewering the Tea Party)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My mom, my friends, my family, music, good beer, happiness, love, a sense of purpose, Oxford commas, and an irreverence to numerical limits
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'm not falling for that trap...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doin' whatever the heck I feel like!
