What I’m doing with my life
I moved back in with my folks to help out as their health is
declining...

The first things people usually notice about me
Physically: I have a very full beard and long hair usually in a ponytail,
dress very casually,
carry a few extra pounds.
Socially: Awkward at best. Usually quiet.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books & Movies: I lean toward hard sci fi and fantasy, but also like non-fiction.
Music: I don't generally listen to music, but occasionally enjoy almost any variety in moderation. The most recent artist I listened to a lot was Enya.
Food: Too much! I managed to loose 68 pounds on the Atkins Diet, 'till I also had to start watching cholesterol...I gained back 28 of those pounds and back to figuring out what to eat...

The six things I could never do without
God, The Son, The Sun (the "Goldy Locks zone"
thereof), Air (preferably "fresh"), Water (preferably "potable," if
not "pure"), Food (at least "nourishing"), The Earth and/or
Shelter, Love*, a
sense of
humor**...pretty much in that order, I think.
* Okay, "Love" is covered by the first two, but worth repeating.
** There are three kinds of people: those that can count, and those that can't.
I have simple needs, but eclectic tastes. The list of things that make life worth living would be quite lengthy! Though none of them are a necessity, enjoying some of them is.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
boiling down complex issues to understandable sound bytes.
On a typical Friday night I am
watching the sci fi channel and browsing the
internet or
playing computer games...this is
pre-empted if company comes, in which case we might play cards or dominoes or just visit...a
few times per summer I would be on my way to a family weekend
camping trip.
There was a time I would have been ballroom dancing...sigh.
