Your Notes
Edit your notesI am Affectionate, Eccentric, and Honest.
My Self-Summary
To say I'm not looking for anything is untrue, however, I'm not looking for people to fill roles, but rather people as people. In my life, intellectual interest is a prerequisite for friendship which is a prerequisite for attraction which is a prerequisite for romance. I don't believe in traditional dating and I don't have any particular trust in a statistical model. I hope to meet people, and simply go where I go with those people, just as I would face to face.
What I’m doing with my life
In certain ways I am working to improve my life. I attend Berkeley, finishing up my degree in Sociology there. I work for Stanford in an unrelated field and am exploring other options for the future.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I enjoy a wide variety of foods, and reasonably I don't plan to subject the reader to a comprehensive list. I do not drink, and I try to limit my intake of sugar substitutes.
Drinks: Green Apple Jones Soda
Entrees: Sushi, Lasagna, Steak, Hash Browns
Appetizers: Potato Wedges, Sourdough Bread
Regional/Ethnic: Italian, Mexicali, Thai, Japanese
Media
I will preface this section by admitting that I am, to some extent, a media elitist. I will investigate most works presented to me, but few will earn a definitive positive review. As a result, I am listing the works I enjoy and can enjoy on review, rather than the ones I consider critically excellent.
Performance
Television/Serial: Firefly, The Venture Brothers, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Dexter, Gundam: 08th MS Team, Berserk, NCIS, Criminal Minds
Films: La Grande Illusion, Perfect Blue, Shawshank Redemption, Inherit The Wind, The Crow, The Prestige, The Machinist, End Of Evangelion
Musicals/Plays: Les Miserables, Arcadia, Rock & Roll, A Little Night Music
Literature
Graphic Novels: Sanctuary, Sin City, The Longbow Hunters, Crying Freeman, GTO, The Dark Knight Returns, Teenagers From Mars, Daredevil: Born Again, V For Vendetta, Watchmen
Books: Paradise Lost, The Beekeeper's Apprentice, He Shall Thunder In The Sky, Catch-22, Midshipman Hornblower, Snowcrash
Authors: John Wilmot, Elizabeth Peters, Eliza Haywood, J.R.R. Tolkien, Tamora Pierce, Laurie R. King, John Dryden, Alexander Pope, Jonathan Swift, Kurt Vonnegut
Music
Songs: Yesterday, Bring Him Home, How The Gods Kill, Black Celebration, Brandon Lee, Preacher Man, Doll Parts, Substitute, Behind Blue Eyes
Albums: The Wall, Rubber Soul, Abbey Road, The Metal Opera, Disintegration, Transmission
Artists: The Beatles, Natalie Merchant, Diablo Swing Orchestra, The Doors, The Who, Johnny Cash, Rage Against The Machine, Immortal Technique, Garbage, The Tea Party
I'm uncomfortable with the construct of genre, and while I will use it when necessary, for the above types of media it is better to say that I am open to most genre and I'm always willing to investigate something new.
