I am vivacious, humorous, and kind.

My Self-Summary

I am looking for a partner who is also my best friend. I am creative, spontaneous, funny (I think so, anyway), sociable and health conscious. At the moment I am taking a hiatus from my career as a financial consultant to explore my interest in jazz music (I play piano and sax). Some of my other interests are healthy cooking, the outdoors (including the beach), farmer's markets, travel, gardening, museums, reading, concerts, and spending time with my son. I am looking to meet an easy-going person who shares some of my interests, likes children, and has a good sense of humor. I'm a romantic at heart and I believe in the importance of a strong emotional connection.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm looking to achieve that perfect life balance between work, personal development, creative interests, family, friends, romance and health, in no particular order. Lately, I've been devoting a lot of my attention to getting my CFE credential, in preparation to return to work as a financial analyst for litigation.

I’m really good at

I'm good at music, dance, cooking, gluten-free baking, math, making people laugh, listening, pursuing a wide variety of hobbies and interests, finding reasons to smile, rollerskating, Sudoku...how is this relevant, anyway?

The first things people usually notice about me

People notice that I am sweet, funny, and I have beautiful green eyes (and I'm modest, too!).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I am a voracious reader and I am always open to discovering new authors. I have eclectic taste--some enjoyable books I have read recently are The Good Men (Charmaine Craig), About a Boy (Nick Hornby), and How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents (Gloria Alvarez). A few of my all-time favorite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Paul Auster, and Barbara Kingsolver.

My favorite movies tend to be funny, with a little bit of depth. Some favorites that come to mind are Napoleon Dynamite, The Jerk, and Annie Hall. (Thanks, Myelbow!)

I tend to listen to a lot of jazz, especially pianists like Bill Evans, Bud Powell, and McCoy Tyner. I also like classic rock and alternative (no hip-hop or pop, thank-you).

I tend to prefer different types of Asian cuisine, as well as California Bistro. I'll eat just about anything, as long as it does not have wheat in it.

The six things I could never do without

I could never do without my friends, my family, my photos, my piano, my pets and *love*.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a lot of time thinking about music, interpersonal relationships, parenting, and funny stuff that happened during the week.

On a typical Friday night I am

Babysitting for a friend, so that she'll sit for me on Saturday (so I can go out!).

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've spent the last 10 years living in L.A., but I'm moving to Denver as soon as I can get things wrapped up here. I really hate L.A., but I guess I have to take the blame for staying here so long. It's kind of like that parable: "There was a man who used to complain to his coworkers about how much he hated having a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich for lunch every day. So finally, his coworkers got tired of it and said that maybe he should tell his wife to pack him something else. The man said, 'My wife? She doesn't pack my lunch. I do.'"
