My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Formerly of Astoria, new to Williamsburg.

I'm particularly interested in politics, comics and various pop-culture oddities. I used to be an avid gamer, but I don't spend that much time playing video games these days. More time reading about them, actually.

I'm interested in meeting anyone with whom I can have a good bowl of pho, discover new rock/pop music, watch a Cronenberg film, have a spirited political discussion, or talk about nerd stuff like comics, to give a few examples.

Or just go out and have a good time. More East Village than Chelsea or Hell's Kitchen, but I love this town.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated from Vassar College in May of '08, majoring in religion. I then immediately moved to DC. After a ten-month stint working for a liberal media organization, I did various odd jobs including blogging, interning for an LGBT PR firm, volunteering for a gay rights campaign, and census work.

In summer of '10, the aforementioned LGBT PR firm offered me a job in NYC. So I seized the opportunity and moved. I've research, press release writing, and more for a wide range of progressive causes.

Currently freelancing and searching for the next big step in my career.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hmm. Writing. Having a good sense of humor. Being considerate of other people, and intrigued by what they're doing. Discussing politics, cultural trends, and the things mentioned in my "favorites" section.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My charming awkwardness. And my stylish glasses.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Yerba mate (it feels better than coffee, with significantly less caffeine!)
-Vietnamese food, especially pho and banh mi (the latter from Banh Mi Saigon in Chinatown, especially)
-My Netflix account - the streaming service is great
-Arrested Development - endlessly quotable
-Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, by Michael Chabon
-My iPhone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-sex and relationships. Of course.
-how to be a huge nerd while maintaing my sexual mystique
-politics, with an emphasis on gay rights and other cultural issues
-unintentionally hilarious pop-culture ephemera; see for examples
-Vaguely disturbing imagery and ideas, like Chris Cunningham videos or the Futurist Manifesto
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends at a bar or house party. Though I do sometimes keep it lower-key.

you think my profile seems interesting and you're up for chatting. And possibly meeting in person.

Please don't bother if you can't type in complete sentences; if Atlas Shrugged is one of your favorite books; or if you're a sexual moralist. It helps if you comment on something I'm interested in - it works in real life, too!
