I am stoic, genuine, and almost a [[yeti]]....

My Self-Summary

Say hi, find out. I like to think I'm a tall, big, with a large heart, with a good sense of humor and on the shy side...

I enjoy both quiet time and more social outgoing moments too...I also love using ellipses improperly...

What I’m doing with my life

Living! Whether going out with friends, going back to Cleveland to visit family, or finding more unique ways to spend my time, I'm just having the best time I can when I can...

Lately it's trivia night, poker night, movie night, and since spring's here the weekend barbecue and fun fun fun!

I’m really good at

Being a great guy. Being a good friend. Teaching what math and physics and computer ideas I can impart...I probably should go back into teaching, but the current computer research job pays more bills...though I'm glad I just found a new office...perhaps paying off the mortgage would allow going back into teaching.

The first things people usually notice about me

My Long Hair. A stoic demeanor. But that smile does shine through...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Not enough space on the server...but here goes:
A) BOOKS

Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy,
Anything by Poe,
O'Henry's Shorts,
H.P. Lovecraft,
A Void - this one's unique,
Le Ton Beau De Marot,
Godel Escher Bach,
...many many more

Mathematics of Poker,
The Capitalist Manifesto,
Street Gang: The history of Sesame Street (think that's the title, I'll check

B) MOVIES

The 5th Element,
L.A. Story,
Hudson Hawk,
Bowfinger,
City of Lost Children,
Rosencrants and Guildernstern Are Dead,
Wings of Desire and it's continuation Faraway So Close,
Boondock Saints,
The Princess Bride,
Gross Point Blank,
...many more here too
Anything by Terry Gilliam,
Anything funny with Steve Martin,
Comedies, Sci-fi, Farces, Fantasy...the Borne trilogy...

C) MUSIC

Classical, Gothic, Industrial, 80's, Alternative, Folk, Experimental, Ethereal, New-Age, Celtic, World Beats, etc...
Also, do a little composition, mostly simpistic, probably falls in a conglomeration of the above...I think it's interesting...
Hoping to find old music theory references the library in Cleveland area had...
Did gothic radio show back in the day...

Favorite Concert: Cleveland Orchestra performs Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. Absolutely wonderful.

Favorite Recent Concert: Dead Can Dance at the Strathmore in Bethesda.

Other music or note: was in a goth band long ago...VERY long ago it seems...

D) FOODS

From almost anything with unique flavor to anything american...Trying to eat healthier...and I'm not too fond of seafood except sushi from time to time and I avoid mushrooms and asparagus...no allergies etc..just avoid...

The six things I could never do without

I used to think: Oxygen, water, food, heat, friends, and of course family.

Now I think love should be in there somewhere too...probably built into friends and family...

Though the older I get, the more I crave to learn new and interesting things...this week it's ,last week I forget...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Take a random number generator. Find a way to correlate it's output to Wikipedia. Then do that 5-6 more times. I'm thinking of about 4 of them...probably

On a typical Friday night I am

There really is nothing typical about any given Friday! Though lately it's hosting movie night for friends and coworkers. Sometimes poker night. Sometimes game night. Sometimes go grab a coffee. What are you in the mood for?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

that I like to gamble...poker, craps, etc...I save a little from time to time...I usually put aside $20 to $50 a month...though I haven't been to a casino in months...lately it's just poker...but fun...and on a winning streak too...sweet
