My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, here we go again. Another self-summary for another web site. It seems like there should be a rule against these, as they can be so varied and you really never know what you're going to get.

Anyway... I miss the long ago OK Cupid three words profiles, and as such, I'm going to start with those.

I am mischievous, perspicacious, and adventurous.

I believe in living life to the fullest, with as few regrets as humanly possible. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, because I think most people are good. I believe in surrounding myself with the people I love as those are the true treasures of this life. I believe in having fun, causing trouble, and using the Oxford comma. I believe in myself. I believe that there are times for joy and for sorrow and that you need both to be well rounded. I believe in you. I believe that children are our future and deserve to be heard and given trust and responsibility. I believe that we should never grow up all the way.

Now, I am married, and I do have kids, but I hope that doesn't drive you away. I believe that love is an infinite resource, and there's nothing I've ever seen in this world that makes me think it isn't possible to have many loves, for many reasons. I hope that you feel the same!

With that I'll end this section of my profile and encourage you, the reader, to send me a message if you've liked anything you've read (or if you just want to argue about one of my fine points!). I enjoy conversations with new people and look forward to hearing from you!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living, laughing, growing, learning, reading, biking, walking, playing cello, camping, hiking, teaching, writing, gaming, dreaming, creating, smiling, working, playing, and all sorts of other things that fill the empty minutes.

Also... Trying to teach a stubborn, 7 month old, 95 pound Newfoundland puppy how to behave, and that he's not a lap dog anymore. Advice is appreciated!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Taking complex ideas, breaking them down and simplifying them for others.

Using common sense.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
While it is trite, you'd have to ask them.

Really though, it's probably the long hair or the beard. Maybe my height. After that the belly or the eyes. Me, I'd go for my eyes ;)

As far as food goes... I very rarely find something I don't like, and I'm willing to try anything once.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
For some reason this question has always bothered me. It's probably because never is such a loaded word. There are truly very few things I could NEVER do without. But with that said here's a few I really enjoy having in my life:

A Good Book

Bonus: If it's before 9 AM then coffee moves very high up on the list.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can make my work day more interesting without getting fired.

Alternate historic timelines.

What book I should read next.

Board games. I love board games!

Why I can understand how to draw in my head but cannot translate that knowledge into any sort of real-world application.

How long I have to be at my current job before I can let my beard go full viking.

How best to use different colors of rope against different colors of skin to make fun art.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing with my wife and a good book or enjoying a glass of scotch or whisky (and/or a good bottle of beer), preferably while playing Pathfinder or some other game.

Lately though, it seems going to bed early as I have to be up at 4AM for work on Saturday. Bah.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want someone to talk to about something for awhile.

You want to grab a cup of coffee, beer, or pretty much any other activity.

You enjoy verbally sparring with a witty, good-natured pain in the ass.

You want to play a board game you've never heard of before.

You're looking to just go out and have fun, no strings attached (or maybe strings. Or rope. I like rope.) Whatever really!
