My self-summary
I think that my thoughts, words, and deeds should generally be an honest reflection of me - living life inside out. That said, I'm still a work in progress!

I'm happy, fit, irreverent, and friendly. I love listening to and making different types of music. I enjoy engaging conversations with people who think like me, and especially with those who don't. I accept other points of view with respect, and expect the same. I try not to take myself too seriously. Life is what we make of it and I'm creating positivity.

I've spent a long time getting good at a job that I love, and it's a good day when I learn new things at work. I also consider myself a lifelong learner and would really enjoy learning from you. I might even be able to show you something new, too.

I'm not looking to change you. I know you're fabulous, talented, lovely, and amazing, "just the way you are".

If we start hanging out, you'll be happy because - I'll figure out a way to keep you happy.

You should get to know me!!
What I’m doing with my life
Adjusting to being without my kids - away at college. Taking music lessons and practicing. Working my body out. Started yoga a year ago - fantastic! Losing 1.875 pounds. Working. Volunteering. I just bought a really tasty tea at Teavana - update just bought new tea at Adagio. I'm a convert.

It's kind of funny that for much of my life I rejected/resisted internal change. Oops. Pulling a 180 here and looking to improve as much as possible in this area.

I am aiming to practice unconditional love on others and on myself. I really think that's all there is.
I’m really good at
Meeting new friends for lunch - hint hint! Getting along with my teenagers. Being positive. (I'm giving myself a "C-" for writing in this section. Workin on it.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I take it for granted by now, but I look way younger than people expect.

A recent panel of female friends called me "approachable and cute". Same sources said they'd be surprised if I stay single for long. I hope they're right!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
After a life of reading fiction, lately I pitch more towards non-fiction or books about inspirational figures or spirituality (CWG). I really enjoy music performances, theater, and dance performances - think Hubbard Street, (I used to take ballet and jazz - surprise?). I was also in martial arts (see Asian) for 10 years if I'm sounding too artsy here.

Music - yes. I'm an amateur piano and guitar player, and just bought a djembe. I can dig most any kind of music, cool cat that I am. What do you like?

I just started uploading practice videos to YouTube. If you're nice I'll let you critique me, haha. Be nice!

Movies - sure. I get my $7.99 worth of Netflix! OK, I'll pass on horror.

My daughter and others are influencing me to eat more vegetarian-ish. I'm becoming a believer in eating well. Better late than never, right? (sweating the 1.875 pounds still.)
The six things I could never do without
1. Tic Tacs
2. That thing inside which we all have
3. The indescribable feeling after working out, dancing, or playing instruments
4. Practice
5. Faith
6. You?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to quantify how much happier some internet stranger could be that decided to hang out with me. :-)

What would they pay me to be that much happier? OK I'll accept payment in SMILES!
On a typical Friday night I am
Unwinding from a long work week. Figuring out how to play new songs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can only draw stick figures. Help me!
You should message me if
You can explain to me how to side crow.

You want to show off what's special about you. I'll be very impressed.

And THAT, was just the beginning of the story.
