My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
To be the love we want to find is one of life’s most worthy challenges. I aspire to be ever-evolving. So far I am intellectual, sensual, and playful, with roughly equal measures warmth, depth, juice, mellow, sass, and goof. I'm woman and girl, urban and earthy, a sexpot and a sage. I'm happy, healthy, and eager to share my life and love. I’m looking for a brainy playmate, a soulful heart-mate and a magically delicious lover with whom to build a beautiful life.

Former beaus say I am loving, feminine, strong, smart, sweet, honest, hilarious, hot, open, present, and wise.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
~~ Primarily: learning, laughing, growing, dancing, going deep ~~

I have about 120 kids aged 17-18 who crack me up and touch my heart every day. Curriculum centers on poverty, war/nukes/terrorism, climate change, human rights, conflict resolution, genocide & humanitarian intervention. That's all pretty heavy, so we start class with meditation & dance. ;-) I coordinate interdisciplinary work, too, and this semester I'm teaching a major religions course again. Teaching is a total blast and veritable love fest, save the grading, which every teacher will tell you is the bane of their existence.

I'm naturally curious. I love learning and would enjoy taking up a new hobby with my sweetie. Like tango. Or biking for a cause. How about rock climbing (have equipment; need partner)? Studying tantra (a "rock climbing" of sorts, no?). Riding horses (ugh, there's a theme here). Moving to Europe for the summer. Allons-y!

I love to laugh in community, commune with nature, use my body, stretch my mind, open my heart, get giddy, gentled, sparked, sedated, sated, opened, lifted, held, freed by music, movement, film, friends, reading, roaming, writing, you.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making sure you feel appreciated.

Making people think and laugh.

Irreverence, reverence and power-napping. Join me?

I've been known to deliver a 20-minute lecture using 5 different dialects.

Gratitude is my guiding practice. Guess I'm gifted with what humorist Bill Bryson calls “low-level bliss,” the kind of jump-up-n-down joy one finds in flush toilets and hot running water after having been in the wilderness for an extended period (camping, anyone?). I seem to have it in spades, for like no good reason. Moving through this world, I see such sweetness, such beauty.

I'm happy to visit the theater, roam the gallery, raft a wild river, or traverse the universe between your collarbone and earlobes.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes and my smile. Strangers on the street often smile at me.

If it's an OKC date, I've been told many times that my photos don't do me justice and that I look both taller/more slender and prettier in person. (Is that weird to share? I dunno, but it's true.)

I'm also told consistently that I look significantly younger than my age. (On Earth Day, after a long conversation with stranger next to me at Arizmendi, I was asked if he could set me up with his 32-year old son. Thought I was not a day over 31! Wha? Seems a stretch but whatever! I'll take it! The last person I met and dated from the "real world" thought I was around 33; that felt good. ) Good genes and a healthy lifestyle help, too. I want a man who takes care of himself in all ways.

Books
At the time of this edit: Calvino, "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of Robert J. Oppenheimer," and "Europe's Promise: Why the European Way is the Best Hope in an Insecure Age." Standbys include NYT, Chris Hedges, The Onion (to offset Chris Hedges. Ugh.), Rumi/Hafiz, Mary Oliver/David Whyte, various news blogs, books on teaching, war, happiness, Buddhism.

Music
** Gillian Welch, Sun Kil Moon / Mark Kozelek, Hem, Alexi Murdoch, The Be Good Tanyas, Beth Orton, Patty Griffin, Bon Iver, Cat Power, Citizen Cope, Jose Gonzalez, Ida, Iron & Wine, Sean Hayes, Ray Lamontagne, David Gray, Damien Rice, Eva Cassidy, Regina Spektor, Cheryl Crow, Peter Gabriel, Greg Brown, Pieta Brown, Jeff Buckley, Tim Buckley, Beck, Nick Cave.
** Brad Melhdau, Bill Frisell, Terrence Blanchard, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Shirley Horn, Melody Gardot. These days I most often listen to jazz.
** Yo-yo Ma, Zoe Keating, Takenobu, and pretty much anything featuring the cello, which is clearly the world's sexiest instrument.
** Carlos Nakai, Peter Kater, Lama Gyurme, peaceful stuff.
** Balmorhea, Bonobo, Zero7, Moby, Philip Glass, Robert Fripp, Nick Drake & Warren Ellis, Steve Reich, Brian Eno, various electronica
** Not so much anymore, but in every so often I enjoy the classics: The Beatles, CSN&Y, Pink Floyd, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, Van Morrison, REM, U2, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Joni Mitchell

Television
No TV. Online Colbert/Stewart, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Downton Abbey. Someday I'll watch The Wire and The Sopranos.

Film:
Kurosawa's Dreams, Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet, Amalie, Hitchcock, Harold & Maude, Malik, Coen Bros, Wes Anderson, Gandhi, Gump, The Graduate, Schindler’s List, Oz, Straight Story, Strangelove, Being There, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Lives of Others, Usual Suspects, Little Miss Sunshine, Himalaya, Once, Into Great Silence, Baraka/Samsara, Rivers and Tides. Lots of heavy documentaries.

Food:
I like it. I have a huge appetite and am not afraid to eat. I'm pro-protein and favor sustainable, local, organic. I'm no Julia Childs, but I'll serve it up in my skivives if it'll sweeten the deal. (I love the way you step in behind me and kiss my neck while I'm washing dishes.)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Laughter in community, communion with nature, movement, expansion, connection, gratitude.

Other favorites include: Greens, blues, books, beauty, fires, fresh flowers, flannel sheets, farmers' markets, pillow laughter, lemon water, lavender ice cream, organics, autumn, awe, art, candles, poems, Pandora, mountains, trees, rivers.

Please give me your: broad shoulders, resonant voice, penetrating gaze, irresistible vision.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Corruption, compassion, comedy, color. Also politics, peace, psychology, philosophy. Justice. Juicing. Dark, salted chocolate. Men. Boots. Beauty. Words. How grateful I am. How juicy I feel. How to streamline cooking. Where to find a student grader on the black market. When and where and how I'll finally meet the man I want.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday nights I find I can be a bit talked out from a week's worth of managing teenagers. So this is the night we'd get take-out and cuddle on the couch while reading or watching a flick. Or discussing the latest. Or planning our next adventure. However we're engaging (or not), I see delectable edibles at hand. Perhaps a beverage-for-unwinding.

Regular sweet spots include: music venues, dance floors, cafes, comedy clubs, good grub, and my clawfoot tub.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I watched many a Mad Men episode from the tub. Breaking Bad, not so much. ;-)

... you're happy, healthy, honest and kind, with a warm, playful sense of humor and a presence that's both passionate and grounded. You're brilliant, expressive, compassionate, funny, deep, fit, and totally yummy. And you've got an edge. A compelling depth. You're a rare combination.

You're a handsome, hunky manly man with a deep, open heart and robust sensuality; you know how to adore a woman. Like me, you're fiercely loyal; I will love giving to you totally.

You make things happen in this world, living your purpose with passion, integrity, and service. You walk a path, relish adventure, and appreciate the art of just being. Your heart's river runs deep; you're a courageous, if not intrepid, navigator. Though you're a work in progress (aren't we all), the larder is stocked. You come prepared for our journey: your heart is full and open, longing to love and grow.

Mostly we live our days with light hearts, sparky chemistry, and loads of laughter. But when we hit a rough spot, you can be a wise and gentle teacher or a curious humble student, as I aspire to be with you.

Together, we are: depth, ease, skill, peace, passion, and fit. C'mon baby, be the love.

~ Thanks for reading. I wish all good things for my fellow seekers. ~
