My self-summary
Not your run-of-the-mill blonde - though I have my moments like everyone else - seeking a companion with a big, easy smile and a silly side to his/her character. I'm looking for that partner-in-crime, lasting romance malarkey. No casual sexual encounters, please.

It's probably fair to call me something like 'of masculine mind and feminine appearance'. Essentially, I'm kind of practical but quite girly.

I like casual banter and intense, debate-fuelled conversation. I mainly enjoy reading, gaming, and indulging in silly antics with friends. Other past times include sewing, writing, studying foreign languages, and cooking.

I can't stand dishonesty or unwarranted cockiness, but I'm sucker for someone with a good heart, and a sense of confidence and adventure.

My main vices include taller curvy women, smoking, sci-fi, fairy tales, coffee, and gin or wine.
What I’m doing with my life
Like many others in the age bracket, I went through the motions of university and came out with a BA in what I may only describe as my first love: English literature. I found out afterwards that most employers don't care much for degrees nowadays *cynical rant restrained*.

So after a year of despising retail (no matter how niche-market the company I worked for was), I took a dip into the world of computing and found I really enjoyed myself :)

So nowadays I'm still studying, juggling maintenance and repair projects, telling myself to start reading up on Python, reading a rich and varied selection of fiction, writing odd segments of poetry, and gaming.

Things I want to do in the future:

I want to gather enough money to travel all over the place.

One day I want to work in San Francisco or possibly Tokyo.

I also want to learn enough French, Japanese and possibly Esperanto to call myself 'multilingual'.
I’m really good at
Swearing. Losing my keys. Laughing at inopportune moments.

Making the people I love smile when they need to.

Prattling on about books.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books, books, books...

A few particular favourite titles include Life of Pi, Slaughterhouse 5, Mr. Nice (the Howard Marks autobiography), American Gods and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

Right now I'm reading 'Deathless' by Catherynne M Valente.

Favourite authors/poets include: Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Paulo Coelho, Richard Matheson, Iain M Banks, Angela Carter, John Donne, Philip Larkin etc.

The list is by no means exhaustive. I'm a big-time bookworm.

Films:

Undercover Brother, Forbidden Planet (1956), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Some Like it Hot, The Haunting (1963), Snatch, Fight Club, Die Hard (1, 2, 3), Alien (1, 2), Predator, Big Fish, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Bucket List... Essentially anything with Jack Nicholson in it... Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, GitS, Akira...

TV:

Ugly Betty, The Boondocks, QI, Spaced, Blackadder, The Big Bang Theory, True Blood, Robot Chicken, The Walking Dead...

Music:

The Skints, Led Zeppelin, The Offspring, Junkie XL, Biffy Clyro, The Black Keys, The Prodigy, The Rolling Stones, Nina Simone, The XX, Prokofiev, Frank Sinatra... My music taste is pretty eclectic and this list is definitely not exhaustive.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much gin/wine is left in the cupboard and where my keys are.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it." ~ Salvador Dali

I'm secretly a big soppy romantic; I love the whole flowers, kissing-in-the-rain, will-they?-won't-they? films, having your own little universe to share, morning cuddles etc. thing. I've actually sent medieval love poems on a Sunday morning to someone before via text - I don't think the recipient saw it in the same light.

I'm mostly oblivious when someone's flirting with me. Sometimes you just need to spell it out.

Also, Patsy Stone is my idol.
