Favorites are hard. I usually end up reading 5 or 6 books at once. Right now I am reading the Jacques Roubaud Great Fire of London trilogy. The less fancy ones are mostly Scandinavian murder mysteries.

I have been listening to, among others, the new Sally Shapiro and old Arthur Russell, and the fantastic Disintegration Loops box set a friend gave me. Also gone back to the Nick Cave and Warren Ellis soundtrack for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

I come from a long line of Russian movie snobs, so obviously Tarkovsky and Paradjanov are two of my favorites.
