My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I met a grinning man down at the crossroads who bet me a fiddle of gold against my soul I couldn't tell him a better story than he could tell me. I traded the fiddle for a handful of magic beans, which I lost in a poker game, but won a totally rad hat instead. I feel I got the best of the deal, as I can't play an instrument to save my life, and never had much patience for gardening.

I love stories; telling them, hearing them, writing them down and living them out. I shamble after them on busy streets, and pick the shiny ones out of the gutter for safe keeping. I've been described as care-free and meandering, which is largely true. I've also been told I'd enjoy World of Warcraft, though I've never played a day in my life.
I've joined the circus, worked on and off the stage, tinkered with fire and steel and ink, and slept in every state east of the Mississippi at least once, for any number of reasons. I've drank wine with legends and smoked cigars with barbarians, and hitchhiked with old gods. One day, the Dos Equis man will cite me as his greatest role model.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a groundskeeper at a B&B and a carpenter. I'm looking into going to grad school.

I have the odd need to learn how to ride a motorcycle.

Sometimes I teach my youngest brother life lessons, using metaphors, like they did in the Nineties Sitcoms.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
being overtly dramatic. Not in a 'reality show' kind of way, but I have been known to concoct evil schemes simply so I can Monologue in public, to the general amusement of all.

I should get back on stage.
The first things people usually notice about me

Neil Gaiman, most anything by Terry Pratchett or Douglass Adams; I read almost constantly about any subject that interests me: from ancient sword-making techniques and siege weapon construction all the way up to modern crime and forensic procedure. I currently read anthologies. This Shakespeare guy is pretty good, and I like to read middle English out loud for my own amusement. I have a thing about George RR Martin; I somewhere between worshiping the ground on which he walks and beating him over the head with a rock until his last two books come out. I've also been enjoying Chesterton recently.

I maintain an eclectic collection of movie tastes that shifts periodically depending on my mood. Currently, anything witty, a little dark, with a dash of whimsy and vikings. Vikings are pretty awesome. Why yes, 'How to Train Your Dragon' DOES fit all of those categories nicely.

TV Shows: As above. Leverage, Dr Who, Burn Notice and Supernatural (as far as Season 5, anyway) are some of the best shows on TV, and I will fight anyone who says different. Community makes me want to have epic paintball fights. I've also been pretty heavily into Defiance, Penny Dreadful, Salem and Vikings (whenever it's on). I want Showtime to make another damned season of Black Sails, already. I watch Game of Thrones mainly so I can watch my friends' reactions to things I read about in the books.

I'll listen to almost any kind of music the catches my fancy. I was raised on show tunes and AC/DC, so usually classic rock, but I'll wander through heavy metal, industrial techno (lets be honest with ourselves; it's techno) and rock from the nineties. Also, Amon Amarth makes me happy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee
A sketch pad and colored pencils
Notebook and pen: If I don't write the ideas down, I'll forget them.
Road maps: planning road trips, of course
Wikipedia: it's a horrible place to go for information, but a GREAT place to go for ideas.
Netflix: "I like this show! I'm going to watch ALL of it in two days!"
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What if Gollum had a Texan accent?

"Taters? Wut's TATERS, precious?!"
"Filthy Baggins! We hates yew forEVAR!"
On a typical Friday night I am

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have this odd need to put on a straight jacket. To make sure I can still escape from one, should the need arise. It pays to be prepared.
