My self-summary
Hi, I'm 31, I have a BS in CS (Computer Science), and a full time job doing computer programming in Ann Arbor, MI. I've been here for 9 years now and like it, so I probably won't be going anywhere anytime soon, especially since I recently bought a house. I'm caring and very understanding, I'm down to earth, easy going, non-judgemental, open-minded, its nearly impossible to offend me with any topic or shock me with any statement (you can always tell me anything), and I can get along with just about anyone. I can have fun doing just about anything, going out or staying in, both have their advantages, I'm always up for whatever, but I'm usually pretty laid back and like to chill. I highly value honesty, open communication, and being upfront about everything. I'm also an open book and enjoy answering questions, so if you want to know anything else feel free to ask away.

What I’m doing with my life
I graduated college from Michigan Tech in the spring of 2003 and since then I've lived in Ann Arbor where I have the full time position of Senior Software Engineer at Midwestern Consulting LLC. I recently bought a great house that I plan on eventually doing tons with, and hopefully this will be the last time I move for a LONG time (I really hate moving). Other than that I'm just trying to have fun with my free time, live in the moment, and enjoy life to the fullest. Always looking for new people to share it with.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for right now, my life is quite busy, but I keep an open mind and tend to be open to whatever feels right. Just keep in mind I'm a pretty independent person and I'd rather go with the flow and keep things simple. I don't like getting caught up in the details and focusing on the future, I'd rather live in the here and now and enjoy life and the things that make me happy.

I’m really good at
Anything to do with computers, technology, or video games. I rock at the drums on Rock Band. I'm a music whiz, if you play any semi-popular song from the 60s on, chances are I can give you the artist and title within the first few seconds and I know nearly all of the lyrics. I also can't not sing along with catchy music and have been told I have a pretty good voice and so I enjoy karaoke. I have a photographic memory. I have a very logical mind, so I tend to over analyze things, think too much, and provide extremely logical answers to things (I can give you a smart-ass BS answer to just about anything or give you solid non-emotional even-headed advice on stuff). I have a green thumb and have tons of house plants. I'm super understanding, you can pretty much tell me anything and it won't shock me in the slightest and I'll handle it calmly, especially if there's any sort of understandable reason behind it. I'm told I give great hugs. I'm also really good at cuddling, being affectionate, listening, empathizing, making people feel comfortable, giving a shoulder to cry on, and making people feel better. :)

The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not sure... physically probably my bright blue eyes or that I'm always smiling. Otherwise maybe that I'm a lil shy or quiet until I get to know people better. I have a hard time thinking of things to say out of the blue, but if you ask me questions you can get me talking.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I don't get much chance to read, but I'd say mostly sci-fi/fantasy books. Right now I'm re-reading through the Wheel of Time series in anticipation of the last book finally being released soon. After that I'll probably pick up the Harry Potter books or A Song of Fire and Ice books.

Movies: I love movies. Netflix is seriously my best friend. It's pretty hard to pick any favorites because I tend to like all kinds and its very rare that I actually dislike a movie. I usually find at least some entertainment from them no matter how bad they are. If I had to name a few favorites: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Matrix, Avatar, Independence Day, Finding Nemo (or any Pixar movie for that matter), Inception, Butterfly Effect, Memento, 40 Year Old Virgin, Dogma (or any Kevin Smith movie), ... the list goes on.

Music: I listen to just about anything. Generally speaking if its popular and catchy, I probably like it. I can't not sing along with music. If I had to pick some favorite genres, I would have to go with classic rock (like the stuff my parents listened to), and modern hard rock. Some current fav bands: 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Default, Disturbed, Hoobastank, Linkin Park, Metallica, Nickelback, Offspring, Puddle of Mudd, Rise Against, Shinedown, Staind, Tantric, Three Days Grace. If I tried to list fav classic rock bands the list would be way too long, and don't even try to ask me what my fav song is, that's impossible.

Food: I eat pretty much anything. Any kind of fast food is fine by me, or italian, chinese, mexican, american, whatever, if I haven't tried it, I'm open to trying it. I even like vegetarian/vegan food and admire people who have the dedication to live like that.

The six things I could never do without
Computers/internet, video games, cell phone, movies, music, and my car.

This is of course ignoring the obvious answers of food, water, air, shelter, earth, and the sun.

Or the more ridiculously necessary blood, skin, bones, muscles, ligaments, and organs.

But what about more intangible things like logical thinking, being open minded, understanding, the concept of time, random ponderings, and knowing you have friends that care about you?

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Random ponderings, philosophical concepts, space and time, civilization, the future, people and why they are the way they are, and life in general. I think about things way too much. It annoys the heck outta me sometimes, but I can't help it, thats the way my brain works. It's over-active, it over-analyzes, it's constantly making lists, and it won't shut up when I want to go to sleep. Why doesn't it have an on/off switch?

On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something fun or relaxing. Just about anything really (or nothing at all), whatever other people wanna do. I like hangin out with friends, goin out for a couple drinks, 420, listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, skiing, kayaking, and a bunch of other stuff. Just suggest something and I'll probably be up for it. Or sometimes it's nice to just stay in relaxing with someone talking and watching a movie while splitting a bottle of wine or having a few beers.

Oh and I don't usually do this on a Friday night necessarily, but I love going to Cedar Point. If you want to go sometime, let me know!

I also miss walking through the Arb, you should ask me to join you for a beautiful stroll before winter gets here. :)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know... I'm very open, nothing is too private really. I would tell just about anything if you asked, but here's a few for now. I'm a bit of a nerd. I have a very sexual side and love giving. I'm a little OCD about some things, it's nothing crazy, but I can be particular about how things are done, and everything has its place, so I'm a bit of a neat-freak. ...and I have two more I would almost write here, but they're not exactly something you plaster on the front page of a profile, so if you want to know you can ask.

I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 21–36
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You've actually read all the way down here and are still interested at all.

Keep in mind, that as a guy in a world where men are supposed to make the first move, I'm lucky if I get sent ONE message every couple MONTHS. Women who take the initiative to actually write me instantly get +50 awesome points in my book. ;) So if you're even thinking about possibly writing me, go for it, you never know what could happen.
