My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a writer who loves to take pictures (I usually have a camera on me). I like to wander around and take pictures, lately the ID, then stop in somewhere for tea, coffee, or a pint etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Editing stories and a novel, taking pictures (digital and film), going to concerts, happy hours etc. with friends, reading books, watching movies, and walking around.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Keeping calm during a storm.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sometimes remind people of a former Bond actor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I just started Doctorow's The Book of Daniel. I also just picked up two books on 50's and 60's America Art for research for my book.
John Gardner's October Light and Franzen's The Corrections are two stand-outs for me as well as Carver (who doesn't love this guy?), Phillip Roth (Zuckerman books), David Markson (check him out - amazing), TC Boyle, Auster (earlier stuff), Somerset Maugham, Broom of the System, etc. I also loved Moneyball as well as the movie.

Music: Really keen on Unwound right now. Also a fan of The Sea and Cake, Centro-matic, Let's Active, Joy Division, Guided by Voices, Minutemen, Sebadoh, Superchunk, both Elvises, Silkworm, The Feelies, fIREHOSE, Sonic Youth, Malkmus and the Jicks, Chavez, St. Vincent, Savages (saw them- wow), Turin Brakes, John Coltrane, Sun Ra, and Pharaoh Sanders. I love XTC, always have, and Devo as well - I have an okay vinyl collection.

Food: I watched Forks Over Knives and that really changed how I think about food and health. I mostly buy vegetables at the store now and just made pesto hummus that is really good and easy. I eat fish (love sushi, poke, mussels) when I go out and if you invite me for dinner and serve steak, mutton, et cetera, then that's what I'm having.

Movies and tv: True Detective, The Killing, The Wire, Homeland, Six Feet Under, and The X-Files (I want to believe!).

Right now I'm on a Kurosawa kick. Wonderful stuff. Just watched Yojimbo and Sanjuro. No Country For Old Men is a fave.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A camera, a place to sleep, a book, footwear, hope, and my glasses.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Narrative fiction and my next photo project.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
During baseball season, I am at the game with a friend in the upper deck taking in the views and talking about our lives, the world, and what to eat. If I'm home, I am making veggie enchiladas, watching a Kurosawa film or the Vivien Maier documentary, and drinking a beer from the coolers of the Beer Junction. I might also be at a SAL lecture, Town Hall seeing a writer, poet, photographer, or jazz musician, at Neumo's seeing the Meat Puppets, or somewhere else doing some other thing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't really like going barefoot.
