My self-summary
I'm writing fiction full-time now after after 11 years of working for non-profits (global health, arts, education).
I am also very into photography and taking photo classes. I grew up in Connecticut and moved here a while ago after living in SF after graduation from a tiny liberal arts college in the Hudson Valley.
What I’m doing with my life
Editing/re-writing the novel and taking photos when the sun is out. Started back on the yoga after years away. Good to be back and good for my back.
I’m really good at
Looking, observing, seeing how things work.
The first things people usually notice about me
That's for you to answer. But in fairness, I'd say that people notice fondness for puns and baseball. Also that I'm fairly tall.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
John Gardner's October Light and Franzen's The Corrections are two stand-outs for me as well as Carver, Phillip Roth (Zuckerman books), David Markson, Murakami, TC Boyle, Auster (earlier stuff), Moon and Sixpence, Cakes and Ale, Freedom, Broom of the System, etc.

Music: The Sea and Cake, Centro-matic, Let's Active, Joy Division, Guided by Voices, Minutemen, Sebadoh, Superchunk, both Elvises, Silkworm, The Feelies, fIREHOSE, Sonic Youth, Malkmus and the Jicks, Chavez, St. Vincent, Savages (just saw them- wow), John Coltrane, Sun Ra, and Pharaoh Sanders. I love XTC, always have and Devo as well as a slew of others - I have an okay vinyl collection.

Food: sushi, fish and chips (I know a great place), clam chowder. I'm also teaching myself how to eat healthy after doing a cleanse. I mostly buy vegetables at the store now and think grapeseed oil is pretty awesome.

Movies and tv: I've been watching True Detective and Girls on Sundays after I finish editing and I really liked The Killing, The Wire, Homeland, Six Feet Under, and The X-Files (I want to believe!). I just saw Big Sur, which was good. I liked Blue Jasmine and loved No Country For Old Men. The Road was also a good one. Fargo, Guest of Cindy Sherman, Raising Arizona, Jules and Jim, The Big Lebowski, Zero Dark Thirty, Pauline at the Beach, The Sessions, Marathon Man, Network, Grizzly Man, 24 Hour Party People, Trainspotting, Midnight in Paris, Squid and the Whale, all got top ratings from me on Netflix. I also really enjoyed The Descendants.
The six things I could never do without
Hope, a camera, pen & paper, chance, dental floss, and a pair of shoes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Narrative fiction, what makes a good photo, and which Frank Lloyd Wright place to visit next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Meeting a pal for a beer, catching a baseball game, or watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think Sally Field in Norma Rae is a total hottie.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 37–49
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you want to. An endnote. I think it takes some amount of guts for us all to post ourselves up here in hopes of meeting someone special. I look at it as a party and you never know who you are going to run into.
