My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, shit. Here we go, to the devil with false modesty...

In a nutshell I'm: quirky, a good communicator, prefer quality over quantity, organized, tattooed, efficient, hilarious (even if only to myself), & intelligent... I’m a lover of animals, gardening, music, wine, making lists, keeping things organized, finding new adventures, and overall consider myself to be a good man. I have a career, a home that I love, tend to make good decisions, and am financially and emotionally secure. These are also traits that I look for in a partner…

I'm glad that I grew up on the east coast and developed work ethic, driving skills, and assertiveness. That being said, I've been out here long enough to have most of the west coast personality traits wear off on me. It's really the best of both worlds...

This whole online dating thing kind of gives me the willies sometimes. I feel like it’s kind of a cross between a shitty dive bar, QVC, and the Sears catalog...

I'm vegetarian. Have been for a long time, and it's a lifelong decision that I've made. You certainly don't need to be, but mutual respect is a must...

I feel like I'm a perfect gentleman with a very dirty mind...

I'm an INTJ to a T.

I always use my blinker and never park on the wrong side of the road.

I'm currently beardless (mostly). This has a tendency to change often...
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I would estimate that I spend 20% of my life in self-induced awkward situations. It keeps things fun, keeps me entertained, and keeps people guessing...

I keep myself sane throughout the week with yoga, dog walks, reading, gardening, music (which is almost always playing either over the speakers or in my head), cooking amazing dinners, and tending to my bees.

I have a fairly interesting career that can be very serious and sometimes stressful, but very rewarding. I've had the opportunity to travel the world and help a lot of people along the way. I also have lots of gross stories about cadavers...

I'm a proud homeowner, and bought what was essentially an unlivable crack house and turned it into my own private oasis. I can't begin to estimate how many hours I've put into my place, but it's my home and I love it. I try to be a steward of my land, and have created a really awesome little sanctuary in the city. I have three gardens that take up the majority of my yard, so you’ll likely see me weeding if you ever walk by.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Adapting to my surroundings.
Keeping plants alive and flourishing. Between my gardens and house plants this could practically be a full time job!
Paying attention to minute details and recalling them at a later time.
Picking out a good bottle of wine.
Making friends with puppies.
Finding just the right amount of spice to use.
Coming up with unique solutions to difficult problems.
Fixing things when they break.
Ooo, and doing beer & wine pairings with food... I've been having a lot of fun with this one lately!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm obsessed with music, and can pretty much appreciate anything with a few exceptions: Anything that has "Christian" in front of it. Modern country hurts my ears. Most rappers that weren't around before the 90's.

I love books. Usually have several going at any given time. Currently have the following going:
Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies by Nick Bostrom
Our Mathmatical Universe by Max Tegmark
and Sex at Dawn by Christopher Ryan

It's very unlikely that I will ever pass up eating Indian.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I can live with very little, but here are things that keep me going...

Human and animal companions
The ability to break the rules
The ability to capture moments in time through photography
The ability to hear music
The ability to travel
Vegetables
Vice of the moment
Wine
Words
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
All of the amazing things that our species could achieve if we weren't spending so much energy on violence. Imagine if all of those engineers and researchers were working on medical breakthroughs and eliminating the need for petroleum instead of finding different ways to bomb the shit out of one another... I actually think about this a lot and don't think that I will ever understand.

How do I get myself out of this mess unscathed?

How exciting it would be if pterodactyls still patrolled the skies...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Making the devil blush...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I often wish that David Attenborough would follow me around and narrate the minute details of my day. Sometimes I have this narration going on in my head using his voice. Is that weird?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should hit me up if you're not a chicken shit and want to say more than "Hi" in your message. Or if you'd like to grab a beer, head to wine country, go for a hike, play a game of scrabble (possibly over a beer or in wine country), go on a photo shooting adventure, go see some music, cook an amazing dinner together, wander through some botanical gardens, or wander around a record shop...

Honestly, I have very little desire to chat for an extended amount of time online. I feel that you can learn more about a person within ten minutes of meeting them than you can with endless messages, so let's just do one of the things listed above and see if there is a spark. If not, I'm always open to bringing awesome new people into my life as friends...
