My self-summary
STATUS UPDATE: I HAVE FOUND "SOMEONE SPECIAL." FOR NOW, AND HOPEFULLY FOR A LONG TIME TO COME, MESSAGE ME ONLY FOR CASUAL CHAT WITH NO EXPECTATIONS. I AM KEEPING MY OKC PROFILE UP, AT LEAST FOR NOW, MOSTLY BECAUSE I ENJOY PEOPLE WATCHING AND RANDOM LIGHT CONVERSATIONS.

BEYOND THAT, I JUST WANT TO THANK OKC FOR HELPING ME FIND SOMEONE INCREDIBLY AWESOME THAT HAS TRULY HELPED ME BEGIN A NEW AND EXCITING CHAPTER IN MY LIFE. IF YOU EVER NEED A TESTIMONIAL FOR FUTURE ADVERTISING, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE MY SUCCESS STORY WITH YOU.

FINALLY, TO ALL OF THOSE SEARCHERS STILL OUT THERE, I WISH ALL OF YOU THE BEST OF LUCK. PLAY IT SAFE WHEN MEETING NEW PEOPLE, BUT KEEP WITH IT. I AM AN OKC SUCCESS STORY, AND IF IT HAPPENED TO ME, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. BEST WISHES AND GOOD LUCK!

My self-summary? Well, one thing about me is that I hate filling out self-summaries! Aside from that, I am a recently single proud father of two. I am a hard worker that enjoys the simpler things in life. I was never much for the "crowds scene" and would much rather enjoy spending my time with someone special watching movies or shooting pool. I'm a pretty laid-back straight-shooter that is interested in meeting new people as friends first. After that, who knows?

If interested, here's a hint when it comes to me: They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but that's not the case with me. The way to my heart is through my mind. I need to be stimulated intellectually. I am also a good listener, because I always want to learn new things from the people that I meet.
What I’m doing with my life
I am doing everything I can to be the best "me" that I can be. Part of that is learning who I am as a person. I believe we are not human beings, rather human becommings because life is a journey of self discovery. I spend most of my time either working or being a dad. If it's not one of those two things, I'm usually either writing or shooting pool.
I’m really good at
I've been told that I'm really good at a few things. First off, I am a good listener who gives good advice. I also have the knack of making people laugh, which is something I pride myself on. I know the positive emotional impact a good laugh can have - especially during a not-so-good day. When I make someone I care about laugh, it makes me feel good because I feel as if I have given them a gift of sorts.

As far as talents are concerned, I don't want to sound as if I'm bragging, but I am a fairly decent writer. I have written a novel and would be happy to share with anyone interested in reading it.

I am also fairly effective on the pool table. I am a team member on an eight-ball league, so if you shoot pool or are interested in learning, that's a big plus in my book!

I'd like to share another talent of mine, but fear that it might come off as a cheap come on. It's not. Let's just say that if you're a girl that enjoys a good massage every once in a while, I've been told that I have magic fingers!
The first things people usually notice about me
The first thing people usually notice about me? If we're talking about looks, I've been told I look a bit like a young David Duchovny or an even younger Liam Neeson. If we're talking about personality, people usually compliment me on my easy-going, laid-back attitude.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books? Not to sound full of myself, but the one I wrote is probably my favorite. I prefer to write over read, but a few influencial books for me would include The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Outsiders (first inspired me to write), The War of the Worlds and the graphic novel Mauz (powerful stuff). My favorite authors are Edgar Allan Poe, H.G. Wells and William Blake.

Favorite movies? I love horror movies! I also very much enjoy Michael Moore's documentaries and Kevin Smith's films. Also, I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Godzilla. I know they're quite goofy, but they are big, stupid fun for me.

Favorite shows? Alright, now my geek flag will wave. I love The Science Channel, especially Through the Worm Hole and The Universe. I also enjoy political shows such as The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time, The Young Turks and Countdown. Also, if you can tell me what MST3K stands for, you already have the key to my heart!

Favorite music? I'm a rocker through and through. Anything from The Grateful Dead to Metallica is fine with me.

Favorite food? If it's at home, I'm pretty handy on the grill (Charcoal only, baby; propane isn't real B-B-Q!) Going out, I love sushi and Olde English Cuisine.
The six things I could never do without
1.) Family
2.) Friends (Quality is much more important that guantity).
3.) My custom pool stick
4.) A good word processor
5.) My computer (I know that it's a cliche answer in this day and age, but it's the truth).
6.) My mind (The best entertainment system I've ever owned).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about philosophy. I know that that's a real geeky answer, but I love to consider the wonders of the universe from my own perspective. I love astronomy, theoretical physics and theology so, when I'm not concentrating on the task at hand this is usually where my mind goes.
On a typical Friday night I am
On a typical friday night, if I'm not recovering from work, I'm usually out shooting pool if I feel like being social or at home writing if I would rather some quiet time on my own.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The most private thing I'm willing to admit (at least on the internet) is that I'm pretty sensitive. I'm not emotionally needy, but I take things people say about me to heart, be it good or bad. I love compliments and try to take criticism as a positive experience by considering it as a way to improve myself.

I have other, far more private things that I care not to share with the entire world. Let's just say that if you get to know me, you might be pleasantly surprised!

You should message me if
You should message me if your interested in meeting a guy who doesn't just want you for "one thing." If you're looking for a man who is interested in your mind (I know it sounds corny, but it's true) and someone who is going to listen to you and respect your opinions without being judgemental, I would definately be the type of person you are looking for and I'd be very interested in getting to know you!
