I am intelligent, loyal, and hilarious.
My Self-Summary
*Profile still under construction. I am a contractor, so please
mind the orange barrels.*
My name is Daniel. Most people, being unable to handle the glory
that is my proper name, call me Dan. While I know when to be
serious, I see
humor
in the world all around us that is just waiting to be recognized. I
don't even need a
monocle to do so.
I'm very loyal to my
friends, and
family, and have never broken a promise
in my life. I do my absolute best to maintain high standards of
honesty, integrity, and the truth.
I am not confrontational, but I am not a "yes man" either. I offer
my honest opinion when asked, and while I do not sugarcoat it, I
try to be considerate about what I say.
I value actions over words, and am far more likely to display my
feelings than to verbalize them.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I am a government contractor working as an upper level
network
administrator. In the future I would like to
travel the world using my job as an
excuse. More immediately however, I am considering moving out of
Tucson and into
Phoenix.
I do not yet know what my ultimate goal for my career is, because I
enjoy what I'm doing right now. IT evolves quickly enough that it
is always interesting.
I’m really good at
Teaching, I am
good at recognizing difficulties a student is having, and helping
him/her (or constructively correcting) so that everyone is happy
with the results.
Technical
Support, though I am limited in my experience with hardware and
remote assistance. It helps me a lot to get my hands on a problem
and to see it with my own eyes so that I can work on it.
Gaming is something
I've done ever since I was little. I enjoy poking around on the
computer but I
also enjoy sitting down with a friend or significant other and
playing on my
X-Box 360.
Reading and
writing have
always been a strong suit of mine. When I was in
school I consistently had a
reading comprehension
level well beyond my age.
Martial Arts.
Taekwondo
specifically. I am an instructor in
TKD and I occasionally try to do some
volunteer work
teaching self defense courses.
The first things people usually notice about me
My easy smile, friendly and inviting mannerisms, and my sense of
humor. My manner of
dress probably gets noted as well, as I tend to actually enjoy the
'business casual' look.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
The
Riftwar
Saga by Feist is my favorite book series to date, but a couple
of other good series of
books I've read are
The Sword of Truth and
The Wheel of
Time. All of these are lengthy and complex, but they are all
well worth reading too.
My favorite serious movie is
The Shawshank
Redemption, and my favorite non-serious movie is
Monty
Python and the Holy Grail.
I'm pretty relaxed on music, provided it is not country or rap. I
probably would not even mind those if it were not for the fact that
they both make my ears bleed at best, and my head asplode at worst.
Regardless, my current favorite is
3 Doors Down.
I have relatively simple tastes in food, and tend to stick with
what I know I enjoy for the most part. Pastas and meats are almost
always a safe bet.
The six things I could never do without
1. My ability to read.
2. Buildings that are not on fire. I tried that whole leaping out
of a window and breaking my legs in the fall thing once, and it
sucked. No sir, I didn't like it.
4. Junk food. The primary sustenance of a bachelor. Well, ones with
metabolisms like mine anyway.
5. Some form of entertainment. I just don't sit around bored
because I am unwilling to find something fun to do.
6. Did you notice there was no #3?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"what if" situations. Not ordinary situations, like what you would
do with lottery winnings, but awesome situations. Such as what I
might do with the ability to discover the answer to any question
put to me on command, or perhaps whether I would choose to be able
to slow/stop time or be able to heal anything.
On a typical Friday night I am
looking for my next adventure. I am also perfectly capable of
enjoying own company, or quiet nights at home.
Until recently I was a bit more introverted and willing to spend my
idle time playing video games or reading. While these are still
activities I enjoy in moderation, I am working on expanding my
horizons. So far the things I have discovered I most enjoy doing
are physical activities that have some form of social contact, such
as jogging, cycling, hiking, or rollerskating.
Once I've carved out my niche (into the likeness of
Morgan Freeman of
course) I'll endeavor to be a little more specific.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I sometimes bathe in water filled with lavender bubble bath while
reading by candlelight provided by fruit scented candles.
So am I serious, or is that a joke? If you weren't wondering if I
was kidding before, I bet that you are now. Now you don't know
where I'm coming from!
You should message me if
you value honesty, integrity, loyalty and a great sense of humor in
your partner. If you have any suggestions on activities that I
might find fun around Tucson, I would love to hear them.
