Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm very good at times, very bad at times, and sometimes
I like to sing at the top of my lungs, mostly when I'm alone, but
under the right circumstances I am not afraid to belt it out with
other people around. Sometimes I think they enjoy it!
According to okc I'm "less attentive" than others, ; how'd they
figure that? Less attentive to what, I'd like to know...I'm very
attentive to the things/people I care about. I'm curious about how
people I don't yet know see things, and what they really want or
enjoy. I also like to try out new things--especially when they are
edible, musical, or literary. Most people don't know me as well as
they think they do, but perhaps that could change...
since I have not posted a pic, a self-description might be in order
(though I'm sure you''re not just all about looks...right?):
average height, thin, pale (unless unshaven, I suppose), dark hair,
uh...sexy, deep, moody, ferocious eyes? the next time I look in a
mirror I will have to work on this...
I am curious, creative, and excitable
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Looking, wondering, musing, and thinking it all over. And sometimes
writing about it. Also talking about it. And I get paid for that;
how could I possibly complain?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
incrementally improving my profile...check back in three months to
be amazed at how much more quirkily interesting I am than I at
...wondering whether The Ethical Slut is an oxymoron.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, there are all sorts of people, after all. And at least two
sides of me. But people tend to wonder if I'm as young as I look. I
tend to wonder how young I look.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music: Interpol, The Strokes, White Stripes, U2, Andain
food: not into large chunks of meat, but most other edible objects
are worth trying out. I'm especially fond of things that combine
flour, butter, and sugar.
Books: oh, where to begin? here's a start--Dumas. Paolo Coelho. the
book that has been renamed Blade Runner, historical fiction of most
sorts, first of all The Name of the Rose. Science fiction is cool
enough that I'm not terribly discriminating about what I like.
Fantasy=even better. Philosophy of science by John Dupre.
Movies: I still love Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Shaolin Soccer
is pretty good, too (and much funnier). Firefly.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
books...how many is that?
at least six, I'm sure, so long as we include things inside books,
like ideas, stories, arguments, words, and the letter "e". I am
also fond of saying "uh".
I'm also very fond of the internet, which I find to be very much
like a giant choose-your-own adventure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why we do the things we do. It can't be just to spread our genetic
code, can it?
Also: wondering why an otherwise fairly sophisticated site cannot
seem to get its gender pronouns right in automatically generated
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
not impressed with Dan Brown. or Ayn Rand. But I did like
Bioshock--or actually, I don't like FPSs so much, but the critique
of libertarianism Bioshock offers is on the money.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I REALLY wish I could spank my students. Some of them really ought
to be spanked.
