My self-summary
Who is Ben FractalElephant?

I like making things, and I have an appreciation for an incredible diversity of art forms. One of my favorite things is to see what I can glean of someone's internal workings from a thing they've made.

I prefer new restaurants to ones I've been to before, and I relish new experiences and enjoy planning the adventure. When I listen people feel heard, and that's because I'm genuinely trying to learn from them.
I'm always learning.

Is meticulously planned impulsivity a thing? I feel like that's definitely a thing. I'll either get an impulse and then plan meticulously and then allocate all of my energy to the thing, or I'll impulsively allocate all of my energy to something because the meticulous planning involved ensnared me before I knew it. Either way, my excitement for things is abundant, and tends to look like either fascination or determination.

Just kidding.

Like, totally.
Actually, this is important. It says to the right that I dropped out of university, which is true, and it happened because I was done studying and ready to be doing. So I got a job doing the thing I'd been studying, got paid a bunch, saved up, and quit to start a business.
There wasn't have a checkbox for that particular sequence of events.
What I’m doing with my life
My work means a lot to me, I want to make the world a better place, and I'm figuring out how to leave a mark on it.

My free time: I'm choosing between whether I go back to fencing for my physical extracurricular or if I'm going to try out rock climbing. I'm stumbling gracefully toward being in the best shape of my life and this is really motivating. I love my sisters, I'm looking for new friends, and I could use a vacation (coming up!).

My professional story: background in game design, specialty in systems - the stuff of truly epic complexity. From there moved into product management when teams became fascinating to me. Since then I've been focused on elements of company design, and am currently a year into building my own.
I’m really good at
Thinking, talking, listening, playing games, handling animals, solving problems, sharing inspiration, finding positive perspectives, long comfortable conversations, and small thoughtful experiments in changing the world.
Also making sandwiches, whistling, and writing anything but essays on myself in the first person.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physical: I'm tall.
Conversational: I listen.
