My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’m the kind of guy with whom you find yourself having really good conversations. My interests are diverse, ranging from activities like board/card games to sword fighting, and music from Taylor Swift to Dream Theater. I have an adventurous spirit and welcome new and interesting activities, but also love being a home body, spending the night watching Netflix together. I’m an ambitious kind of guy going after hard challenges: last year I started my own company from scratch.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m pushing for great things to happen in my life. I’m really enjoying strength training and learning a lot about optimizing my diet. I’m also really digging some new fiction books. I just finished “A River Runs Through It” and I found the ending beautiful and touching, something that will stay with me. If you have any good fiction recommendations, send me a message!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being fun to hang out with. Also, maybe this makes me weird, but I really enjoy listening to people talk about their views on the world. A good conversation is one where both people are engaged on the topic and learning something from each other. I see everyone as an expert of something, and hearing them talk to it in depth is like getting a unique present that you weren’t expecting. This has lead me to fascinating conversations on topics ranging from the applications/logistics of crowdsourced brain imaging to some really awesome perspectives on life philosophy. Everyone has an idea of “how do I make a better version of me” and while no one has the one true answer, everyone has something interesting to say.

I’m also great at being positive. There is so much negativity through social media, work, and even sometimes our friends. While everyone can be negative sometimes and everyone must be pragmatic much of the time, I think that optimism is the best way to approach the big things in life. Pick an impossibly huge tree and take 5 swings at it with an ax everyday. Learn from your mistakes, get better. Be kind to yourself, and try again.

Also games and standup comedy!

Neil Gaiman and especially The Sandman, Malcolm Gladwell (Blink, The Tipping Point), The Art of Learning, A River Runs Through It. Currently reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

Pan's Labyrinth, The Incredibles, The Avengers, Frozen, Cabin in the Woods, American Beauty, Fight Club, Princess Mononoke, Stranger than Fiction.

- House of Cards, The Fall (I cannot give this a strong enough recommendation), Doctor Who, Firefly/Buffy/etc., Forever, Archer, Suits, Game of Thrones, Cosmos, Orphan Black, Parks and Rec, Bob's Burgers, West Wing, Pushing Daisies, Rick and Morty.

- The Decemberists, Dream Theater, Wax Fang, Lady Gaga, Mumford and Sons, The Mountain Goats, Eminem, Kesha, Taylor Swift, Coheed and Cambria, Portugal the Man. Something unique about me is that I don't have favorite bands so much as specific songs by a huge variety of artists that stuck with me. I discover new music not by artist or genre, but by friends with good tastes.

- I'm not picky. Most of what I care about is that I [usually] prefer savory to sweet, and that it's not food I've had in the last couple days.

Cards Against Humanity, Settlers of Catan, Chess, Magic, D&D, Civ IV & V, poker. PvP strategy games are my jam, but I enjoy all sorts of games as well. These are just some favorites.

TED talks? I have a short list of my "most likely to recommend" talks.

Standup: Louis CK. Is there anyone else worth even mentioning in the same context as him? Barely. John Mulaney, George Carlin, and Hannibal Buress are great. Louis CK is king.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
One part myself and one part the people in my life - their lives, their happiness, their problems, their concerns. I derive great joy from being a helpful and positive force in the lives of people I care about. On myself, I contemplate my current projects and problems, and how I can grow as a person to conquer then quicker. I have a fantastic 3-year plan, and sometimes I also think about what I'm having for dinner.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Recently I’ve been focusing more on my work and also spending time with my little sister. She is awesome, and along with my older sister, the three of us have a fantastic bond. This is one of the things people note about us: we are the kind of siblings people are jealous about.

Lately, I’ve been looking for someone to go out and explore this awesome Pacific Northwest with. There are SOO many amazing places to explore. Delicious restaurants, weird bars, awesome hiking trails, and even board games nights.
