My self-summary
I'm a steadfast person and will standby my friends and family through all the good times and bad. I'm pretty laid back but when something actually matters I can get very firey about it.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been in the Royal Navy coming up on four years now. It is very much a life style job and I work Hard to do well. I have great ambition to move up through the Ranks and hopefully (in many many years to come) command my own ship.
I’m really good at
Listening. I know that sounds lame but I discovered a while ago that my ability to tell a story is for some reason limited (times I have been slightly on the worse side of tipsy) so I tend to talk less and listen more
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm tall. As an ice breaker it is getting a little... dull. Oh wow, you're tall! Oh, how tall are you? Wow, you're like the tallest person in the world! I do love being tall but what do you say back to the person who comments on it? Thank you?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I do love reading, I mainly like science fiction and fantasy. Terry Pratchett is one of my favourite authors. I also really enjoy the Harry Potter book but despise the films and have avoid them ever since the forth one. I am currently reading Dune which is excellent and have Starship Troopers, Lord of the Flies and Catch 22 on stand-by ready to go.
My most loved movies so far are the new Marvel superhero movies with Avengers Assemble at the top. I also like crime films like Boondocks Saints, the Godfather, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch etc
I will listen to most music. During my teenage years I went through a Ska phase which I have kinda carried with me but am pretty much into most things that can be put onto a Now That's What I Call Music Compilation CD.
I really enjoy food as long as I remember to eat (seriously, I forgot to eat one day until i realised I was really hungry in the evening) When eating in a restaurant I will probably have a rare steak.
The six things I could never do without
A cup of tea when I wake up. I hate caffinee dependace but with the crazy hours I've been working the last year it has kept me going.
Something that plays music. Life needs a soundtrack.
A shower every day. I need it to wake me up.
A wind proof lighter. I don't smoke but after being left on Dartmoor for 4 days in the rain without a way to light my stove and having to eat cold ration packs I don't like to be without one.
My penknife. You never know when you need a handy screwdriver.
A mode of transport. Be it a motorbike or warship, I love going places.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My new house and what crazy interior design plan I have for it next! I really don't think that blokes should be allowed to do interior design without supervision, it is going to be a pretty eclectic place to live but I'm always open to suggestions (anything but cream)
On a typical Friday night I am
Out on the town. Usually which ever one is the nearest. Mine will be a Pint unless it is a Weatherspoons in which case I'll have a bottle (I used to work there you do not wanna drink from those pumps)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Also the most disgusting. I've been skinny dipping in the Thames. Luckily I was dark so I couldn't see just how brown the water was.
