My self-summary
I'm a Russian-Jewish Puerto Rican Irish German American from NYC, in SF for 17 years now. Went to art school in undergrad, entered as a painting major, left as a sculpture major, stopped doing visual artwork pretty much. Recently finished a MFA program in Electronic Music at Mills. Most of my family are/were painters and/or educators.
What I’m doing with my life
Good question, I guess the answer is a work in progress. For $ work as a projectionist in a movie theatre. In addition I'm pulling an adjunct teaching job, teaching audio. I'm also a landscaper/gardener, after working as an audio engineer for 10 years I made a conscious decision to do work that was outside, in the dirt, and physical. For pleasure I perform and record regularly, It's "weird" music, sometimes called New Music, sometimes avant-garde, or sound art, blah blah blah, but most often, it's probably called noise. I won't be offended if you don't like it and I do not expect you to understand it, but if you do, well then, hey. I write essays about music and/or film, sometimes they get published, like in this CD box set: http://importantrecords.com/imprec/imprec352 . For entertainment I love film, dance, live music, and museums. Sitting 'round with a gaggle of friends shooting the shit over beers strangely never gets old.

I don't have a TV, but have enjoyed these shows:
Strangers With Candy
The Kingdom
Pennies From Heaven

I try to stay away from excessive meat & dairy and processed foods, but, moderation in all things including moderation. I feel it's hard to get a bad meal in this town, if I ever move away I will miss it's food and music, but I DO miss the Eastern European food of NYC.
The six things I could never do without
Fresh, good produce.
Music, swimmimg, biking.
Connections.
Coffee
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...future and past and how I should be thinking more about the present.
On a typical Friday night I am
Living in the Mission for 17 years, I kinda give up on going out in my neighborhood on Friday night, but sometimes do. A trip to the movies, a drink or two.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
A sophisticated snob with a Neanderthal inside who thinks that the 1982 version of Cat People is a classy movie.
