My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love living in the world of tomorrow!

I am a jack of all trades, and master of one or two.

When I make the bed, I don’t tuck the sheets in.

Whole milk just tastes better.

I have been going to the same mechanic for over 15 years.

I have never been to Cleveland.

Slow and low is the only way to go.

I prefer vichyssoise to gazpacho.

Going skydiving does not cure one's fear of heights.

My two favorite things are commitment and changing myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I was originally born in D.C. but spent much of my childhood living abroad in countries such as Thailand, Japan, and South Africa. I also spent many summers in France and Monaco, where half of my family is from. I settled back in NC for college, as this is where the other half of my family is from, dating back to the 19th century.

After half-heartedly pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine, I found my true calling...cooking. I received my degree in culinary arts and spent a good dozen years in kitchens. Unlike most men on here who claim they can cook, I actually can.

Currently, I am self-employed, managing my real estate holdings and other investments. I am back in school in pursuit of a degree in agricultural/environmental engineering. I’m also an active volunteer in dog rescue as a foster and trainer.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Taking long walks off short piers
Covert sneezing

Giving people the time of day
Holding my breath
Putting the seat back down
Hitting the snooze button

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

BOOKS - I tend to read classics or biographies. I consider Steinbeck to be the best writer I have ever come across. I tend to gravitate towards classic science fiction writers, such as Ray Bradbury or Aldous Huxley. Lately, I find myself reading books written by friends and family. Maybe it's time to write my own novel?

TV - I am going to miss Dexter and Breaking Bad. At least I have a new season of Orange is the New Black to look forward to. Other notable shows would include MST3K, Seinfeld, Kids in the Hall, Firefly, Frasier, The IT Crowd, Louie, It's Always Sunny in Philly, Portlandia, Shameless, The Venture Brothers, The Mighty Boosh, The Walking Dead,....

MOVIES - My favorite movie is Groundhog Day. It just hits me in the feels every time I watch it. "Don't drive angry!" Also, anything that Joss Whedon does is golden. I have watched every James Bond movie at least 3 times. Ratatouille holds a special place in my heart. The latest film that has really moved me is Perfect Sense. If you haven't seen it, well, that's your fault. Same goes for the Cube trilogy.
In order of preference - V, IV, VI, III, II, I.

♫ MUSIC ♪ - Tom Petty can do no wrong. Neither can the Boss. I'm a sucker for hits from the 80's. Other notable artists would be Beck, Carla Bruni, Duran Duran, Grateful Dead, Modest Mouse, Paul Simon, Jamiroquai, Pink Floyd, Primus, Scissor Sisters, Talking Heads, David Byrne, The Love Language, Tool, VHS or Beta, U2,......

FOOD - I watch what I eat, but pretty much anything goes. I really enjoy Thai or Mediterranean cuisine, but Five Guys makes the best burger and fries I have ever had. I've never met a vegetable I didn't like. If I am cooking for myself, there is nothing better than filling the slow cooker with meat, veg, and some herbs and spices.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Bleeding edge technology
Thunderstorms
Exfoliating apricot scrub
A good laugh
Ice cream!

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what I would do if the zombie apocalypse happened.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I am not out and about enjoying good food and a few libations with friends or family, I am at home curled up on the couch with my pups enjoying a movie or a good book.

Chances are that I am the one doing the messaging. If I did send you a message, rest assured that I looked at more than just your pictures. I promise that I read your profile and even looked at a few of the questions you answered. What's the point of putting in all that work if nobody even looks at it, right?
