I am in love, with love, and lousy poetry.

What I’m doing with my life
At some point I stopped understanding the meaning of words like,
"work", "vacation" "weekend" "hobby" "career". The pursuit of
craftsmanship has taught me that
every action is a prayer if it is performed as well as you are
able.
I've been involved in
blacksmithing about half my life,
which recalls an interesting saying:
Do not fall into the error of the artist who boasts of twenty
years
experience in his craft while in fact he has had only one year
of
experience -- twenty times.
I’m really good at
Sitting.
And I'm getting pretty good as standing too.
I'm amazing at not watching TV.
Retaining objectivity at the hardest times. Which sounds
diplomatic, but usually just annoys everyone.
The first things people usually notice about me
My tits and my eyes... teehee.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Andy Goldsworthy: Rivers and tides, Realms of the Unreal, Himalaya,
A Complete History of My sexual Falures, The Diving Bell and the
Butterfly.
Lately, Phil Ochs on
Vinyl.
mmmm.... food. I stick to the three Pollanian rules: eat food, not
too much, mostly plants.
The six things I could never do without
I guess it's not really in my nature to think of things in these
terms. I think we all find that we can (happily) get by with very
little when it comes down to it.
But rather than answer literally (water, air, blah blah), how about
a few things I would like to keep getting more of?
Balance. Physical, mental, all kinds.
Knowledge. All kinds. The useless as well as the useful. I am a
curious person. It is the act of engaging the world around me that
I find important; not whether or not I have memorized exactly how
to use a semicolon.
Beauty. I am endlessly interested in beauty but not in decorations.
Thats all I feel like saying about that right now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Tlön, Uqbar, and Orbis Tertius
On a typical Friday night I am
very important top-secret things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have an account on one of those internet dating sites.
And I immediately lose respect for anyone who lists Harry Potter as
one of their favorite books. Sorry, its true. Doesn't mean I hate
you. Doesn't mean we can't be friends, but you lose points. Big
time.
You should message me if
日本語が話せる友達を作りたいんだ。言語は使わないと忘れてしまうもんだからね。
Eyes of a
blue dog and I mean that.
Or if you think you can list every book, movie and song I quoted in
my profile.
