My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Is anyone good at describing themselves without sounding either generic or pretentious?

I'm just a young professional trying to make a name for myself in the world of forensic engineering.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just finished my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in spring 2013. I already had an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Now I'm working towards my professional engineering license (already certified as an E.I.T. in Wisconsin, so now I'm just waiting the required 4 years before attempting the Professional Engineering Exam). I am also working towards becoming a certified fire investigator (CFI) because why not. I use my engineering skills both at home with my own projects and at work. (I'm a nerd, just putting that out there right away)

I work for a small forensic engineering firm in Union Grove that investigates all types of losses. Our specialty is determining the mechanical failures that cause fires and explosions. In other words, I get to figure out why houses blew up and stuff. I've got some pretty good stories so send me a message if you want to hear some of the crazy stuff I've had to do or figure out.

Most of my friends live in Madison, either finishing up their undergrad degrees or working on their PhDs, so I have time to spare.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at fixing stuff (computers, electronics, cars, appliances, etc.). I helped a few friends out a lot when they were building their own computers. This also translates to some of the projects I come up with to keep myself entertained, as well as to challenge myself. I have a knack for being able to figure out why something isn't working even if I doesn't know how it works at first.

My current projects are building a laser cutting machine based on the Core XY design, making props from various games (Hammer Burst from Gears of War, Pip Boy 3000 from Fallout, etc.), building a universal speedometer, and probably something else as well by the time you are reading this. If that kind of stuff is "too nerdy/lame/etc." for you, you might want to move along I suppose.

I also use to be a really good singer. I was invited into several selective groups to perform back in the day. Now my singing is relegated to the car when I'm alone or the shower. If you request it though I will sing, but I'm extremely out of practice so don't expect an award winning performance.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Apparently my hair (Not my eyes. I know, I was shocked too). It's kind of thick and has a soft feel to it. You are more than welcome to see if this description is correct for yourself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I don't seem to have much time for tv anymore, but I like Supernatural, Doctor Who, Merlin, Adventure Time, Always Sunny, Star Trek (DS9 and TNG mostly), How I Met Your Mother, Torchwood, Archer, Rick and Morty, Futurama, and Top Gear (U.K., not U.S.!!!).

Movie wise you can get me to watch almost anything. Same for music.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-My phone
-My laptop, even though it's getting old now
-Learning new things
-My car (2013 Subaru BRZ)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about the future. (but who doesn't) Like where I’ll end up, what my job will be, and who I’ll be with. Who knows, if you're lucky (or unlucky depending on your opinion of me at this point) it might be you. All I know is I learned the hard way not to plan your future around someone else. That and everyone I know who is successful worked hard but had no plan; they stumbled into everything that's great in their life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I try to hang out with friends or working on one of my projects.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still buy and build Lego because it lets me relax. It's AFOL, I know. (If you get the humor please message me because it would make my day.)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-If the match percent is high.
-If you like having fun and nerdy and/or smart traits do anything for you.
-If you’re a cool dudette who isn’t afraid of anything.
-If you think Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the best in the series.

-You made it to this point. Honestly, if you are reading this right now you should message me. I don't bite (unless you're into that sort of thing). You have nothing to lose.
