My self-summary
I suppose the best way to summarize myself would be to say that I'm an ex-film major who loves pie. I don't typically like to define myself in such simple terms, but I guess I have to under such circumstances.

I'll start my pie blog eventually, and it'll be called Piesonality. It'll contain, among other things, one pie a month that I bake and include the recipe for which is based on a person in my life. I'm very much excited about this.
What I’m doing with my life
For monies, I work for an awesome 3D printer company which you may or may not have heard of. I love it ever so much, and if you want to know why, just check out what it can do (as told by an adorable kid): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyZxzkd-Jsk

I try to do movie stuff on the side. I get into projects. Ask me about my parody of the Neutral Milk Hotel song "Oh, Comely", "Oh, Zombie".
I’m really good at
Well, I can do this thing with my eyebrows that's pretty cool.

Providing body heat. Seriously, I'm like a damned space heater, no clue why.
The first things people usually notice about me
BEARD! My beard is BACK! Where did it go, you ask? Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_cje5Iu7y8

Also that I'm usually pretty upbeat and probably talking about pie.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books/authors: Anything by Neal Stephenson, anything by Orson Scott Card, anything by Isaac Asimov, anything by Ray Bradbury, anything by Douglas Adams, The Gunslinger by Stephen King (I abhor most of his other works.), Neuromancer by William Gibson (I liked it, even if it was a little tough to read), most Nick Hornby, Watchmen, and Neil Gaiman (I actually want to get a tattoo of a quote of his on my forearm.)

Movies: Lots.

I will say this, though- I don't see movies in theaters twice, but I did for Drive. Just sayin', it's boss.

Also, fuck Nicolas Cage. Just had to say it, but fuck Nicolas Cage. There are some movies that are good despite him, but never has there been a movie that was good because of him.

Shows:
Doctor Who
The Walking Dead
Community
30 Rock
A Bit of Fry and Laurie
Pushing Daisies
Wonderfalls
New Girl (Even though I found Zooey Deschannel kinda obnoxious in the beginning, the writing is improving steadily!)

Music: A list of bands/musicians I like, in no particular order-
Less Than Jake
The Decemberists
The Protomen
Neutral Milk Hotel
Iron and Wine
Casey James and the Staypuft Kid
The World/Inferno Friendship Society
Bomb The Music Industry!
The Dresden Dolls
The Postal Service
Dropkick Murphys
No One and the Somebodies
Brendan Benson
Murder by Death
The Pillows
Andrew Jackson Jihad
Everyone that plays at Roots 'N' Ruckus at the Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn on Wednesday nights

Foods: I quite enjoy sushi, and so I learned how to make it, which has made me substantially more awesome. I also quite enjoy a good cheese.

As mentioned in my self-summary, I love pie. The thing that spurred people suggesting that I do a pie blog was the pie I made a bit ago for a dinner party. Actually, I'm lying- I had the dinner party so that I could have an excuse to make the pie. It was a double-decker pie with raspberry on the bottom and a vanilla custard on the top. It was glorious. Since then I've made many more awesome pies- I counted once, and I've made like 60 distinct pies in my lifetime, many of them more than once. I've probably made in the ballpark of 150 pies in my lifetime.

Anyone will be able to see the recipes I make once the pie blog is up, but only my friends and family get to eat my pies, unless you pay me. Also, yes, I will take commissions on pie if you're willing to meet up with me to pick it up (pie doesn't ship well).
The six things I could never do without
1. A list which makes a cool pattern as it goes.

2. A good, thought-provoking book.

3. Someone to debate with.

4. A video camera.

5. Movies!

6. Pie!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Odd things, random things. I like to think about how I could turn the moments around me into a movie.

I also have been known to try to define things around me mathematically- like a little thing I did with a roll of toilet paper, where I wrote an equation that can help you define the total length of the toilet paper based on how many revolutions it has made around the cardboard tube.

Also, using the observed rubric I've seen in NY state license plates, I figured out (approximately, within a few thousand or so) how many license plates have ever been given out with the setup of XXX-0000 (three letters, four digits).

I don't know. I'm weird.
On a typical Friday night I am
Home playing video games or working on one side project or another, be it film-related, or some other whim.

Or at a bar, enjoying a number of fine spirits.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have stickers on my dresser from the old Spice Girls candies that used to come with stickers. I'd have taken them off years ag, but I'm afraid to damage the dresser.

I got a laproscopic sleeve gastrectomy (not a LapBand or a Gastric Bypass, but similar in the results, which is the loss of weight) on 4/24/08. Since then, I've lost approximately 95-100 lbs, and I'm still losing. To those who might say it's the easy way out, believe me- it's not. Try getting 6 holes stabbed in your abdomen and then not being able to eat anything but mush for a month. Not so easy.

Looks like I got stabbed a bunch of times, though, and I hear that works with the ladies. So... there's that.

I wish that the Papyrus typeface wasn't so overused, because I feel like I'd enjoy it a lot more if it weren't fucking everywhere.

I have no idea what "down to earth" means, but I keep feeling like it's synonymous with "boring". So, no, I'm not down to earth.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–34
  • Near me
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you think I am interesting and you'd like to get to know me, then message me. Or massage me. Or collage me. Or college me.

I'm not even sure how that last one would be accomplished. Message me if you think you know.

About smoking- I have, and I do sometimes when drinking, but I'm not averse to giving it up if I found someone who meant enough to me. It's not such a huge part of my life that I'd choose it over someone special.

I don't mind dogs, but you've gotta be pretty freaking amazing for me to look past you insisting on the dog sleeping in the bed with you, even when you have a guest with you.

If you're still interested, then, yeah, say hello!
