My self-summary
In an effort to describe myself, I shall tell a story about something that happened to me last fall:

I was set up on a blind date. He proposed the best first date ever: a haunted house followed by dinner(if we could stomache it). however, he cancelled on me because he found I was 'too young'. My friend Emily responded to this story by exclaiming, 'Does he not know you're like 40?' I am somewhat of an old spirit and embrace it! Luckily, though, I'm like that really cool grandfather who loves to kick his grand kids' butts at ping pong or hide and seek!

I just did up my apartment after living in it for two years already. New Paint, New Furniture, New Everything! I even bought a rug! It's a lovely little home now and I look forward to sharing with someone soon. I'm quite the romantic but am also a goof ball and love balancing the two.

I live in Harlem but spend the better part of my days in the West Village/Chelsea at work, the gym and at play with friends.

I tend to lose focus easily...can you tell?
What I’m doing with my life
Living hard and going to bed early. I'm cool like that.

I manage a coffee shop in the west village and do artistic work in theater whenever I get the chance. I love having friends over for dinner/game night or just to chill and watch a movie.
I’m really good at
savoring awkward silence.

and staring contests! The "pete and pete" kind, not the blinking ones--those are no fun!
The first things people usually notice about me
my dimple. yes, singular.

while not the first thing people notice, one of my best pals told me a while back that I can find the positive out of any situation--though I don't think he was meaning it to be a complement at the time... :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't read all too much, but i've been doing a splendid job of taking up the hobby. I've read only a small handful of books in my adult years, but I'm really having a blast. Have you got any suggestions for me?? I've decided to fill the gaps between seasons of SHERLOCK with reading the canon. It's been really cool so far! I also enjoy me some David Sedaris from time to time and Malcolm Gladwell--until it gets all business-y--writes some good stuff!

I've just gotten rid of cable, in an effort to read more, but instead discovered the joys of the splendid trinity: Hulu+, Netflix, and Apple TV. Thus, I've caught myself up on MadMen, How I Met your Mother, the awful BBC Robin Hood, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Rev (the Hulu Original), and many others.

Oh dear, I'm supposed to write about music, movies and food, too? Oh seriously--Just ask me out already and let's do this on a real date! ;)
The six things I could never do without
My Bike
Middle Collegiate Church
My Pals
My Gym Bag
Gaff Tape
Three Pillows(two under my head, one between my knees so my back doesn't hurt in the morning. I'm old.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How on earth I am going to keep my room clean enough to share it one day with that someone special. That's going to be hard.
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to harangue my friends into going on an adventure of some sort--be it a fancy meal or a free park visit or a movie or a PATH train to Hoboken.

Or I'm staying in cooking myself (and maybe a friend or two) dinner and just hanging out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I hate washing silverware. Hate. It. I have volunteered to wash my roommate's dishes in addition to mine so long and he washes all of the silverware. I absolutely hate it.

you are interested in the real world, not just little characters on a screen.

you are open to making a new friend as well (I met my best friend on here a couple years ago. Dating didn't fly, but we get on swimmingly as friends!)

you want to go with the flow and let our time together do it's thing and just have fun.

you don't mind meeting up for tea and just laughing and having a great time together.

you are spontaneous, passionate and excited to be around someone who is excitable.

you are you and happy about that.
