My self-summary
I'm passionate about a lot of things and I never try to hide who I am from anyone. I will talk for hours about anything from music and art to politics and morality.

I'm not afraid to express my views and I love having my preconceived notions challenged, especially when the ensuing debate teaches me a new perspective or even changes my mind completely.

I value friendship and loyalty. I have a big family and a lot of friends and I love them all very much. I would do anything for them because they would do anything for me and I can't think of anything more important than that.

I am generous. When a friend tells me about a problem, I want to help in any way I can. When I see something that I know a friend would like, I buy it as a gift without a second thought. Nothing makes me happier than surprising someone I love and seeing the smile on their face.
What I’m doing with my life
I currently run the IT department for a small home health company and do some private consulting on the side. My job keeps me exceedingly busy, but they pay me very well and let me set my own schedule so I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I also have three years of college under my belt and am working on my degree with online and night classes while I work long hours.

I have the means and the freedom to explore my passions, travel to interesting places, and try new things. Anything from trying a new restaurant down the steet to skydiving in another country, I want to do it all and find someone to do it all with.
I’m really good at
I'm good at computers and playing the drums. I'm not in a band at the moment, but I sit in with a friend's band on a regular basis in all kinds of dive bars in the area. I feel like I can hold my own with anyone in town and I can't wait to find some like-minded musicians to start making some original music.

My family has a background in construction so I'm a fair handyman and hobbyist when there's something I want to build. I'm also an aspiring writer, but I've never had the drive to write more than short stories and lyrics/poetry (mostly lyrics to songs that I want to make one day).

Also, I can kill you with my brain.
The first things people usually notice about me
I like to think that my kindness and generosity stand out to others, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. Most likely the first thing that people notice is something more obvious like my tattoos or the fact that I am a huge and unapologetic geek :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: I'm such a huge music fan that there's no way to cover it all, but a few favorites include Incubus, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Who, The Police, Florence + The Machine, Muse, The Decemberists, Paramore, Cults, Silversun Pickups, The Dead Weather, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age, Arcade Fire, Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Ray, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, The Pixies, The Breeders, and Porcupine Tree. List is getting too long, but virtually anything.

Shows: Biggest Joss Whedon fan in the world (Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse). Aside from that, my favorite shows include (in no particular order): Doctor Who, Lost, Game of Thrones, Justified, Walking Dead, Community, How I Met Your Mother, Parks and Rec, Cougar Town, Peep Show and a nightly dose of The Daily Show/The Colbert Report.

Movies: My favorite movie is probably Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but I love any decent superhero movie (Spider-Man 2, The Avengers, etc.), any kind of horror movie (including the crappy B-movies!), and any kind of interesting/well done documentary that gets recommended to me.

Books: I'm a big fan of fantasy so I love things like Game of Thrones, Night Watch, The Dark Tower, etc. I also read a lot of philosophy and non-fiction, generally anything that gets recommended to me by friends and family. Plus the classics of course. My favorite book is A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Games: Something exciting and difficult with a good story and good characters is always my cup of tea, especially if it has a twisted sense of humor as well. Uncharted, Bioshock, Heavy Rain, Fallout, and God of War are all up there on the list. I've been on a big League of Legends kick lately. I also love vintage games for a nice blast of nostalgia.

Food: I've been on a sushi kick recently. I also love a good steak or lobster bisque. I enjoy going to nice restaurants and having a good glass of wine (even though I know nothing about wine) and I'm always excited to try new things. And, of course, bacon.
The six things I could never do without
1) Music!
2) My family and friends
3) The Internet
4) Playing the drums
5) Movies/TV Shows/Books
6) Hope
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What makes me happy, what I'm looking to get out of life, what's most important to me and what I can do without, how to destroy my enemies and live forever...standard stuff.

I probably spend way too much time thinking about the big questions and too little time thinking about questions that actually have answers.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends either at a dive bar or playing games, or (as lame as it sounds) sitting at home talking with my friends on Skype while we play a game or watch a movie. I've got a big, very tight group of friends that are scattered across the country so I am thankful that the Internet lets us stay close. And the few times a year we all get together...madness.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I get migraine headaches very frequently. They don't come with visions of the future or superpowers.
