My self-summary
''The entire point of making friends and being social is to weed out the assholes and emotionally connect with the ones who are actually good for you. It's the same reason we look for romantic connections. Not so that you have a place to rub your genitals or to fulfill your biological obligation to make more people animals, but so you can go through life with a partner who will let you borrow their scuba gear when the room starts filling up with liquid shit. '' - I stole that from the internet, but it seemed fitting.

I'm Dave. I've not had much luck with relationships, I seem to attract/be drawn to the dishonest types. I'm not the most confident of people, but they say there's somebody out there for everyone, and I'm no quitter! I'm not the best when it comes to meeting people (hence the online dating thing), and I do sometimes get nervous to start with, but I think once I feel comfortable with somebody that generally changes.

I work hard during the week, and in my spare time I like to watch films, listen to music or have a few drinks and/or a nice meal. I'm not really one for getting hammered drunk every weekend these days, I just can't handle the hangovers any more, but once in a while I do like to blow off some steam.

I'm not one of these guys who just goes out looking to sleep with women. If I seem interested in you, it's because you seem interesting. I've never been one for one night stands, I'd much rather find somebody I can connect with, who I want to spend time with and who wants to spend time with me.

Note: I'm currently chipping away at a mountain of debt. I'm not horrendously poor, but if you're looking for somebody to shower you with gifts and take you on holidays, you're gonna have to give it a year or so. Just getting that out there straight off the bat.
What I’m doing with my life
Working, working working. I relocated to Theale to be closer to..... work. Seems like a nice village so far, but I don't really know anyone yet (I've now lived here just over a year, to be honest if I go out it's usually in Newbury or Reading). I live with my landlord and his dog, it's nothing special but it keeps the rain off. The house I mean, not the dog. The dog is a pain in my arse, never stops barking.
I’m really good at
Swearing. I've had to try really fucking hard not to swear anywhere in this profile. SHIT. I'm more a jack of all trades, master of none kinda guy. I draw a bit, I write a bit, I'm decent at my job. I'm pretty got at woodwork and at one point I had a decent camera and took some decent photos. And I'm not bad at cooking, I make a mean cheesecake. Also I'm spectacular in bed. OR AM I?
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, because I'm not other people. I'm taller than a lot of people, so maybe they notice that. But as far as i can recall, nobody's ever marched up to me and gone ''Hey, you're tall''. So I'm not sure. Next.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I get very excited about music, and it bugs me when other people don't. If you're friends with me on Facebook (you're probably not) you'll have noticed my relentless posting of links to Youtube videos of songs and live performances. I'm sure my doing this all the time annoys some people, that's partly why I continue to do it. I listen to all sorts, but mainly stuff with guitars in. Not so much the hipster indie rubbish though. I like punk, hardcore, heavy metal, acoustic folky stuff, bluesy stuff. There are few sounds more enjoyable than that of a Gibson Les Paul played really well. And I'm an unashamed fan of classic rock like Bon Jovi and The Black Crowes. And Free/Bad Company/Anything Paul Rodgers had a hand in.
Films-wise I like a lot of comedy, anything with Will Ferrell is pretty much gonna be a winner. I also like those sort of dark, gritty low budget dramas, stuff like In Bruges, Drive, London Boulevard. I might have a slight man-crush on Colin Farrell. Never really been one for the big budget epic things.
I read mostly non-fiction, I'm quite into stories about explorers and adventurers. I like Ranulph Fiennes, John Krakauer. Also partial to a bit of Richard Dawkins, I find evolution and whatnot quite interesting.
I'm a big fan of food in general. I worked in a fairly decent restaurant for a long time and I like to cook a bit now. Big fan of Italian food, I could happily survive on pasta, pizza and tiramisu I think.
The six things I could never do without
Ipod/phone with music on. Never go anywhere without it.
Coffee. I need some sort of alarm that wakes me up in the morning by firing coffee at my face. For my birthday my Mum bought me a 'coffees of the world' gift box. I was thrilled to bits.
Croissants. One day I'm sure I'll be morbidly obese, but for now I can pretty much eat all kinds of rubbish without putting on weight, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Faaamily. I love my family a lot, I've got two younger sisters and a younger brother, two nieces and a nephew, mum and dad still together. We're a close knit group, although I do get on better with my mum now I don't live with her.
Friends. A lot of my close friends have moved away now, or they've done the 'get married, have kids' thing, so it can be hard to get everyone together these days. But every now and then I love a good night out with all my pals.

Six things?
Erm. Public transport. Because I don't drive. I tell people it's because I'm environmentally conscious, but let's be honest, it's because I was too lazy to learn when I was younger and I'm too poor now. And I actually quite like walking.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whether having a car would help me find a woman. Girls, tunes, food, sleep. Why people always hang around massive population centres in zombie films like 28 Days Later and I Am Legend. I'd head for the hills, straight away. Why people sign up to this site if they're already seeing somebody.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not dancing. I don't know how to do it and I'm not sure why people like doing it. I can manage a slow one at a wedding or something, but mostly I like sitting and talking, or at a push, playing pool.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm an Arsenal supporter. Sorry.

Message me if you like. I don't really care (I'm being aloof, I'm told women love that). So yeah, drop me a line. Or not. Whatever.
