My self-summary
Everything in moderation, including moderation.

I'm a spawn of the Midwest and Canada, Colorado native living in the South. Assume what you will.

I'm too dull for games, and too smart to play them. I rarely take anything too seriously, but I have little patience for petty nonsense, or "drama" as people say.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working on my Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition, and I'm so lucky that I get to do what I've wanted to since I was child. Many people can't say the same.

I also go to gym regularly because I have fitness goals just like normal people. I want to compete in Highland Games.

Besides that, I enjoy going my favorite bar, eating good food and drinking good drinks. Otherwise, decompressing in my easy chair.

I'm also a Stumbleupon Fan, if anyone still knows what that is.
I’m really good at
I'm a lover of words and ideas, so I can explain, debate, counsel, or just converse about whatever.

I can lift heavy things.

I love making people laugh, mostly at myself or themselves.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a big guy with a beard, who is likely to be wearing a suit or kilt, smoking a pipe.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love all literature and theory, but my favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe. Others are Nietzsche, Aristotle, Chuck Palanhuik, J.S. Mill, H.P. Lovecraft, Hobbes, Hume, Locke, Milton, Derrida, Foucault, Deleuze & Guattari, Beauvoir, Hardy, um...more like that.

TV: South Park, Vikings, Arrested Development, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Newsroom, House of Cards, Fringe, documentary, among many others...guilty pleasures: Leverage, Warehouse 13, Supernatural.

My favorite films depend on what they are trying to do. I like heist flicks, action films, film noir, horror, and "drama." Guy Ritchie, Marty Scorcese, Fellini, Ozu, Kirosawa, Kevin Smith, Rob Zombie; I like them all for different reasons.

With music, my favorite is Irish folk, (Erin go Bragh!), and its influenced bands, i.e. Flogging Molly, The Dropkick Murphys, Dubliners, The Real McCoys, etc. Which is closely followed by classical and heavy metal, Apocalyptica, classic rock.
The six things I could never do without
1. Books
2. Conversation
3. Ideas/Intuitions
4. Laughter
5. Challenges
6. Whiskey
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Overcoming my humanity, ideological state apparatuses, and how to teach writing as a martial art.

Also, how to be a straight, cisgender, white male without being a dick.
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking beers after working out; proteins are necessary for muscle growth.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I judge people on how zombie-prepared they are or their house is.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–28

  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you'd like to; I love Coffee and Conversation!

If you're into ursine, intelligent/nerdy/scholarly guys with beards and glasses who are confused by modern popular culture.

You're weird too and you want to talk about weird stuff.
