My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Six five, a gentleman, and a great, great lover of the spoken and written word. I will talk for hours about just about anything (I apologize, the banalities and inanities of reality tv, current fashion, and celebrity gossip are beyond my understanding).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have recently put my PhD research in cancer biology on hold, so I am decompressing from that. Other than that, I am mostly cooking, and playing at the beach.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking, writing, reading, drinking (though I don't have quite the epic tolerance I once did), laughing, telling stories and jokes, being a giant pillow, and running my fingers through hair. Doing the last three at once is my single greatest talent and pleasure.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose it's my height, my laugh (boisterous), and my voice (I've been told many, many times that I need to do voice work).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite book tends to be whatever I read last, though I have an abiding love for Terry Pratchett and Christopher Moore. I love Vonnegut, but can only read his stuff once--it's too stark and brutal to read over again.

Favorite movies are all over the place. I have the typical post adolescent, impotent rage loves like Fight Club and V for Vendetta, but I also absolutely love Chicago, and Singing in the Rain, and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Grumpy and Grumpier Old Men and the Odd Couple and Holiday and anything with Audrey Hepburn (Good God, what a beauty!). At this point, Netflix has just given up trying to suggest stuff for me.

Musically I am all over the map as well. My five favorite artists would probably be Ben Folds, Less Than Jake, Flogging Molly, Cake, and Tchaikovsky (seriously--he's not in there for pretension points! You ever listen to him while studying? It's like brain juice!).

Food--Feed me. Make it fresh, make it tasty, and put it in my mouth.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My music
My books (or at least access to books)
Access to a journal database
Coffee Coffee Coffee
Someone with whom to have an interesting conversation
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Molecular pathways. How in the shit does this stuff work? It's all I think about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either hanging out with friends and trying to talk them out of or into doing something stupid (depending on how my week has gone) or sitting back with some journal articles and coffee.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I secretly wish my life and all interactions were written by Aaron Sorkin.

I want someone to hang out with; someone to charm and be charmed by. If you want to have an interesting conversation with someone who will keep you on your toes intellectually, then give me a shout.
