To expand somewhat, I am working on Urban Forestry issues in Bloomington and Indianapolis, primarily (at a distance, these days). Other things too, but most of them have involved trees. Soon I'll be trying to devise a subject for my thesis. I have ideas. If you ask, I will tell you about them. So only one person has asked. I am offended at your lack of interest.

Also I have cats. Cats are the best (as good as science, even).

Interesting fact: I don't have many male friends, really.
I do a very poor "bro" act, and just prefer to spend my time with women, even when we're not ever going to get it on. Cuz, you know. Women are humans like other humans. If someone disputes this, they're probably lizards wearing the skin of a human, and should be watched closely, and not elected to public office. You'd be surprised how often that happens. I blame central heating.

I just got married, but we still have an open relationship. Love ain't simple, and isn't jealous and petty, and all that. Also, my wife is awesome, and I hope you can deal with that.

I am currently working on my PhD at the University of Washington.

I am currently settling into Seattle. It seems to be going well. But I'm not all that busy.

Incidentally, moving across the continent is both awesome and exhausting.
And really, really expensive.

Also, looking irritated in photographs. Truth. You've no idea how long it took me to take one where I don't look irritable. This is pretty sad, since I used to work as a photographer.

Getting deeply annoyed at all the stupid, binary questions on OKC. I understand that they make matching people easier, algorithmically speaking, but life is almost never binary. People who think so are fooling themselves terribly.

That I'm... i dunno. Odd? For those of us without exceptionally stand-outish features, do we ever really know what people notice?

I confess to sort of missing Terror Beard, though it was impractical and didn't actually get me stopped by the TSA. I'm probably too white.

However, judging from things permanently graven on my body, I'm quite fond of the bands Killing Joke, Einstürzende Neubauten, and the father of Weird Fiction, H.P. Lovecraft.

I require that my music have a certain intensity.
Guitars that blow your face off help, I find, but are not necessary.

I also don't watch much teevee, but when I do, I watch PBS. Because PBS is awesome.

Unless, of course, someone wants to do a thing. In which case I will be doing a thing.
