I am circumlocutory, easily entertained, and alive.

My Self-Summary

Well, to start off, I also am someone who is apparently constantly changing. I've been on this site for a while, but I'll repeatedly forget about it and rediscover it months later to find that my self-summary describes someone I'm not anymore. So now we get a re-write, which sort of sucks, because it's sort of hard for me to spend much time talking about myself.

This isn't really self-consciousness or anything like it at work, I just find that it's hard to do without it devolving into reciting as many facts about one's self as possible, which I find boring, awkward, and sort of dehumanizing.

What you need to know about me is that I'm extremely laid-back, that I enjoy life, even the mundane parts of it, far too much for my own good, and that I have a bit of a wikipedia addiction.

What I’m doing with my life

At the moment filling out a question which I find silly, why should anyone really have to be "doing something" with their life other than living it? Is life not a big enough activity to warrant being something worth doing in its own right without needing the person currently doing it to invent some way to play this game that makes them seem more meaningful to society?...

Okay... Fine, I'll give you what you want, for the moment, I'm going to school, cheap community college, currently a Computer Science major, but am thinking a bimajor in Cognitive Science sounds awesome if that could end up being convenient for me.

I’m really good at

Taking in new concepts, listening, and apparently getting little personality awards at the bottom of this page... Seriously, WTF is with all those? They don't even seem particularly accurate.

The first things people usually notice about me

It depends entirely on the circumstances that are causing me to be noticed, and the person. Sometimes it will be disorganization, sometimes, in certain environments, quietness/non-social-ness, sometimes, in other environments, outspokenness. I've been called both "an orator" and "really quiet" in the same day.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS)
I sort of suck at picking out all-time favorites, I just don't classify things as favorites and non-favorites most of the time, and it really takes me too much effort to consciously compare things, so instread I'll just list a bunch of books I like that come to mind easily: Spook Country, Anathem, and Rainbows End, and The Rule of the Bone were all good and come readily to mind

MOVIES)
Here you get basically the same thing as you got in books, movies I sort of like that I remember at the moment: A Scanner Darkly, The Evil Dead, Pulp Fiction, and Blade Runner, Serenity, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle and Fight Club

MUSIC)
It depends on my mood. If I'm stressed out, the angrier the music, the better, if I'm feeling energetic, I go for completely inane but energetic music, if I'm sort of depressed I go with Dark Folk, and whenever I'm not in any of these particular states (most of the time) I'll go with random indy music.

FOOD)
I'm not really picky here... I love Indian, Thai, Mexican, Italian, American, Japanese, etc. with equal passion.

The six things I could never do without

People, (limited) isolation from people, challenges, sources of new novel bits of information, the ability to entertain myself, and creative outlets.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

People's fixations on things, the complexity in things people take for granted, new projects to start and never finish (or never start and forget about entirely), projects I've started but not finished, cognition, what I should be doing at the moment but am not, TV shows, politics, and a great many other random and completely pointless things.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I know more about monotremes than anyone without an interest in zoology ever should.
