My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Grew up in southern New Hampshire, college in Maine, grad school in Atlanta, and now I'm back in New England!

I'm a generally calm and collected sort of guy--it was once described to me as that it must be always 70 degrees in my head. My friends are very important to me, and I would do pretty much anything for them.

I won't belabor the point--hopefully the Questions and the rest of my profile paint a good picture of who I am!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just got my Ph.D from Emory and am about to start a postdoctoral position at Harvard. I got into science so I could help figure out how the world works and make it a better place for us.

I've also been dabbling with making a couple computer programs that I think would be useful to people and possibly bring in some more money. It's also kind of cool to be able to tell a computer exactly what to do and have it just work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
...logically following an argument, considering all sides, and solving problems.

...putting my foot in my mouth. Usually unintentionally, though every now and then I might see an opportunity that I just can't pass up, though it is well-intentioned!

...massages. Which is good, because I need some way to make up for my foot-in-mouth disorder.
The first things people usually notice about me

If I'm wearing shorts, my calves. I don't know if its just all the walking I do, but they've always been very well defined.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Cherry Coke Zero. I wouldn't care if it ended up giving me cancer, there's nothing quite as refreshing as cracking open a can when I get home from lab.

A comfortable bed.

A park. Really, any nice green space to get distance from city noise. A place to walk around, appreciate nature, and collect my thoughts.

Long, hot showers.

A computer & internet.

CHNOPS and a few traces. Bonus points if you know what this refers to.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...the Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...getting together with friends to play board games or go out to a bar or club. I realize those seem like entirely incompatible interests.

...catching up on my favorite TV shows or watching Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
