My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A good man and thorough. Working class Jersey dude that was one of the poor kids in a rich high school like Daniel Larusso from Karate Kid. Friendly and well-liked like Ferris Bueller. Dark and a bit abrasive at times like JD from Heathers.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work for a Marxist organization. We think the major industries, companies, and banks should be nationalized, put under democratic control, and be run as public utilities to provide everyone with healthcare, education, employment with a living wage and a 30 hour work week, and much more. If you're interested in this organization and our ideas, let me know!

I like to make music. I've done a bunch of stuff with synths, sequencers, and drum machines that no one can really dance to (my intent). Lately I've been doing a bunch of stuff on guitar and bass that will be fleshed out with everything else. Think Weezer Blue Album meets Unsane meets Unwound. I plan to record a legit album of songs and assemble a crew of buddies to play my songs alongside me. Ask me and I'll send you links, I like to share.

I'm a mechanically inclined dude, bicycle repair, car repair, electronics repair, you name it, I can figure out how to fix it.

I enjoy long bike rides that include huge hills. If you can keep up that would be awesome. If not, are you willing to nurse me back to health when I get back?

I also lift weights but I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a bro. Fuck those guys.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am reliable. I think a measure of a good friend is how much you can depend on them to be a reliable getaway driver. I would be a very good one.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This sound:

My friends say this is cheesy and that it should be removed from my profile. I think it's hilarious.

Seriously, I've heard "you look like Bane or Bronson" I have also heard "You look like Andy Samberg." Go figure that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Marxist literature, history, science, etc. I'm limited in fiction honestly, but I enjoy the more critical and thoughtful stuff. Vonnegut was awesome except for his pessimism. Frankenstein. The Iron Heel. In Dubious Battle. Oil! Gore Vidal.

Novecento, Come and See, Z, everything by Kubrick (except Fear and Desire), Goonies, Lost Boys, Karate Kid, Predator, Alien(s), Blue Velvet, Robocop, Total Recall, Dario Argento, Hitchcock, the Coen Bros., etc., etc., etc.

Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, Mr. Show, Kids in the Hall, Pete and Pete, Game of Thrones, Freaks and Geeks. I just started Breaking Bad to catch up with the rest of humanity, amazing.

Admittedly there are holes but I appreciate all sorts of music. As a wee, young lad I listened to a lot of Nine Inch Nails, Beck, Nirvana, and the Beastie Boys. Naturally I graduated to metal and hardcore, and later on to everything else. I generally like stuff that has some sort of confrontation in it. More recent favorites: Scott Walker, Unwound, Entombed, Electric Wizard, The Telescopes.

On my iTunes list the song "Sweetness and Tenderness" by The Rentals is immediately followed by "The Stench of Burning Death" by Repulsion, and I am totally content listening to them back to back.

Food is good. I like food. I'm a pretty health conscious person and have only recently started consistently eating meat.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A brand new sock.
Another brand new sock to accompany the other.
A brand new pair of boxer briefs.
A destination.
One point twenty-one gigawatts.
And a partridge in a pear tree.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How everything could be better. I think like an engineer.

I'm also the type of person who is pretty into self-improvement on all fronts, staying healthy, self-education, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm into movie nights. I also make my own popcorn that is better than the microwavable crap.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is not by any means private, but it may be of interest: yes, I'm bald. Sorry, I wish I had hair too.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you would like to break the stupid convention of men initiating everything (gender roles are wack). I tend to be attracted to ladies with an honest sense of humor, who are a bit "tomboyish," can engage in interesting conversations about a wide range of things. I'm looking for a Marion from Raiders of the Lost Ark rather than a Willie from Temple of Doom (she sucked).

If you can name any of the movie references in my profile it would be a good excuse to message me.

You're a swell gal with a heart of gold.
You're a swell person who shares my interests and has interests to share.
And especially if you find yourself in both categories.

I recently got my heart broken, so I'm mostly interested in making new pals to force myself to realize that there might be plenty of swell people out there I can potentially connect with. I'm not sure I believe it yet...
