My self-summary
Hi, I'm Mitch! I've not been using OKCupid much lately, but feel free to message me, I'll respond!

A huge part of my life is music. If you look down a bit, you'll see that I've got a colossally long list of music I love. My iPod's 160GB and just about full.

Frankly, it's really hard to talk about oneself! I'm basically just a relaxed, laid-back guy. I live life, make the best of it I can, and do what I can to make life better for myself and the people I care about.
What I’m doing with my life
Working away as a paralegal (read: glorified data entry grunt), taking some time off from school, and losing weight.
I’m really good at
This section has always seemed a bit self-congratulatory to me. Ah well.

I'm a fast reader, a good bassist, a decent guitarist, an alright singer, and an excellent friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
How often I wear headphones (all the time) and how tall I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music is one of the biggest parts of my life, and I listen to a lot of different kinds of music.

First and foremost, I'm a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. As cliché as it sounds, his music really reaches me on a level that most people's music doesn't. His Born to Run album feels like the soundtrack to my life sometimes.

I also have an undying love for Weird Al Yankovic - his particular sense of humor and remarkable musical instincts strike a chord with me.

Since I don't want to make my profile super-long, I'll refrain from ranting about other artists, and provide a simple list. If you wanna know more about my music, message me! The list: Led Zeppelin, Muddy Waters, Kaiser Chiefs, Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads, U2, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Warren Zevon and Rammstein. I can find something I like in almost any genre.

Paul Simon's Graceland, to me, has a very, very strong claim for best album of all time.

As for books, I read a lot of history books, usually military history, a lot of World War II stuff. I also have a weakness for popcorn technothrillers - Tom Clancy, Dale Brown, and Clive Cussler in particular. I also read a fair bit of Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff - Dune, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and His Dark Materials are particular favorites of mine.

I also love movies, usually comedies and sci-fi. There are a few people where I'll see anything they're involved in: Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorcese, Kevin Smith, and Mel Brooks. As for specific movies, here's a partial list: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, The Departed, Children Of Men, Dr. Strangelove, Brazil, Grindhouse, Stop Making Sense, Clerks, Clerks 2, Serenity, The Dark Knight, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Also, this seems like the best place to mention it - I listen to a lot of standup comedy. Going to comedy clubs is a great experience, and I need to do it more often. Some of my favorite comedians are Bob Newhart, Chris Rock, Christopher Titus, George Carlin, Lewis Black, Richard Pryor, Patton Oswalt, Paul F. Tompkins, and Richard Jeni.

Holy crap, I completely forgot TV! Well, I watch probably a bit much TV, but I justify it by most of the shows I watch having a basic level of intelligence, with some guilty-pleasure exceptions. As for specifics, I'm a huge fan of The West Wing, QI, Firefly, Mad Men, Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Chappelle's Show, Doctor Who, Community, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, South Park, Torchwood, Sherlock, Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares (I can't help it, I love watching Gordon Ramsay bellow about food), The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Game of Thrones.
The six things I could never do without
Music - Listening to it, playing it... Music really defines my life.

Books - I've got more than 300 on my Kindle, I do a lot of reading in my spare time.

The New York Yankees - Diehard life-long fan. I love the Yanks.

Seltzer. I probably drink too much of it.

My musical instruments.

Pockets. Pretty self-explanatory.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Music, I know I've mentioned it a lot, but it's just such a core part of who I am.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing music, at a concert, or hanging out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have memorized almost every song from Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog.

Also, I goddamned near worship Stephen Fry.
