Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to think of myself as the nerd and the jock. I am a
geek, a book worm, a gym rat, and a sports
fanatic. I love Greek mythology as much as I love basketball. I
could spend hours reading Jane Austen or hours working out at the
gym. For all you Meyers-Briggs people, I am also an ESFJ
(sometimes an ENFJ).
A lot of people ask me where I'm from. I was born and raised in
Indonesia to Filipino parents before moving to the San Francisco
Bay Area when I was 15. But since I have no traceable hint of an
Indonesian or Filipino accent, people assume I grew up in the
United States. Sometimes I speak to them in a foreign accent just
to mess with them.
I could speak when I was 1. When I was 2, I turned vegetarian
because I didn't like the taste of meat. When I was 5, my parents
tried to force me to eat meat by starving me for a week...until I
lost most of my body weight and they felt so bad they told me I
could eat whatever I wanted. These days, any time I tell someone
I'm vegetarian, they don't believe me - "you don't look

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
These days I spend most of my time in San Francisco, working with a
bunch of really smart people at a tech start up. We are trying to
build something awesome, making a lot of mistakes, and learning a
ton along the way.
In my past life, I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor, and I
spent many years teaching adults and kids to swim. After all those
years and the interesting experiences I've had, I surprisingly
still love kids.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Randomly speaking in different languages or accents - it provides a
great deal of entertainment to my co-workers
Also at throwing people - that's why I have a black belt

Books - I've read most classic masterpieces. I also have a
soft-spot for reading ancient mythology or works that are
derivative of them. These days, I read more non-fiction, with a
recent emphasis on psychology and how irrational people act.
Movies and TV - I have an eclectic taste in movies and TV
shows that spans the entire spectrum of movie types. One on hand, I
enjoy mindless action a la 'Gladiator'. On the other, I enjoy witty
banter from shows like 'Downton Abbey'. I also love shows with
intellectually stimulating dialogue amid intense action like 'the
Godfather Trilogy' or 'Game of Thrones'. But I do have a soft spot
for sitcoms like 'How I met your mother'.
Music - I like most music, but I'm having a hard time
embracing electronic dance music. And like many other people, the
Beatles are definitely my number one musical influence.
Food - I may be a vegetarian, but I still consider myself a
foodie. I just found out that I'm a super taster (yes, it's real).
I can appreciate good food from any culture, and I'm open to trying
many things at least once.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My family
- My close friends
- My gym bag and equipment
- A warm bed
- Bread and cheese
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Where I should travel for my next adventure
- What I should do if somebody attacks me on the BART
- What cats and dogs do when their owners go to work
- Why my parents named me after the titular character of a

Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Singing karaoke at the top of my lungs, polishing my salsa moves at
a local club, watching a movie, spending quality time with my close
friends and family, working out at the gym, or reading a good book.
I guess there isn't really a typical Friday night.
