My self-summary
I'm absolutely, positively being serious when I tell you I am probably the coolest guy you’ve ever met. Think of all the cool, fun, intelligent people you met. I have more going for me than any of them. I do. I’ve hired an impressive staff of teachers, professors, gurus, religious figures, financial honchos, celebrity impersonators, athletes, artists, writers, filmmakers, unicyclists, existentialists, karaoke singers and mystics, and I’ve had highly trained doctors extract part of their DNA and had that DNA injected into me. Yes, it was painful. But it was well worth it as I am now, as mentioned, the coolest person you’ve ever met. Or maybe that was a dream; a bad dream. I’m not very cool at all. I'm still trying to figure things out and hope I always will be trying.

Beyond the jokes, I think family and friend are important. My parents are still together and I'd like to be with someone who is happy with their life and those in their life, family and friends.
What I’m doing with my life
I feel pretty good where I am.
Life in the arts can be difficult and stressful, but I lucky enough to produce and direct my own television show, and I'm currently in preproduction for my first feature fim: I'm the writer and director. I've made numerous short films both fiction and nonfiction. I've also written a novel.
I’m really good at
I may be good at a few things or many things, but I don't like to be boastful or a braggard, so I won't list anything here.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, well, that's up the them. But usually, most people notice or think about my wry sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The holy trinity: Beckett, Joyce, Gaddis, with C McCarthy a close fourth. Also, David Markson, Thomas Bernhard, Kerouac, W Stevens, the list goes on and on.

Wings of Desire, Casablanca, Woody Allen...various American and European art house... too many to mention.

Music: a little of almost everything. Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, dylan, stan getz, coltrane, miles, monk, Jackie Mclean, charlie haden, all the way back to Al Bowlly and Django Reinhardt, to Son House, Lightin' Hopkins...RL Burnside lots and lots of blues and jazz and even some rap, TuPac etc., and some bluegrass, Bill Monroe, to Johnny Cash etc. etc.
The six things I could never do without
a,e,i,o,u, and sometimes y.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Possession of anything new or expensive only reflected a person’s lack of theology and geometry; it could even cast doubts upon one’s soul. –Confederacy of Dunces.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him.
–Jonathan Swift
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually, having wildly fun and erotic sex. Now, if I could find someone to join me in this activity it would be so much more enjoyable and meaningful.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Although I play a semi-mainstream guy in life--due to work commitments etc--and though I'm socialable and friendly--I'm really interested in those who have eskewed mainstream society and who are unique and individualistic.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 37–50
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You are tied across train tracks in an old black and white movie with a train coming. Send me a text and I'll come save you before the locomotive runs you over.
Actually, I'm mostly interested in artists and/or those who pursue the arts or who are working for social justice and causes beyond themselves.
