I am what the, fuck do I, and write here?.
My Self-Summary
I'm Adam Rader.
I love Conan the Barbarian and Mad Max and punk rock and heavy
metal.
Still reading? Hey alright.
If there is one thing I would say about myself, it's that I
over-think everything, meaning that as of right now, I've
constructed and deconstructed three different ways to right this
summary. I don't know that a self-written summary is even a good
way to get as sense of a person. My self-image could be wildly
distorted, you never now. I think it'll probably go better for you
if you just scan my interests.
I made this profile to assuage a friend's curiosity about my
matches, and now I cannot figure out how to delete. So don't expect
much of a response.
What I’m doing with my life
Drifting through?
I’m really good at
I'm told I'm good at drawing, storytelling, learning, and that I
have an impeccable knowledge of the music I love. I'm also pretty
good at having a jaundiced view of the world.
The first things people usually notice about me
Generally, it's my hair. Second, probably that I like metal.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
My tastes are pretty dark, in general.
Favorite books: Dune, by Frank Herbert; Blood Meridian, by Cormac
McCarthy; the works of H.P. Lovecraft; the Conan the Barbarian
stories of Robert Howard
Favorite movies: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly; Blade Runner;
Dead Man; Falling Down; Conan the Barbarian; Mad Max; I love
westerns, sci-fi, post-apocalypse and cyberpunk movies, samurai
films, 70s psychedelic movies, I dunno', lots of films.
Music: I pride myself on my musical taste, I love to discuss music,
I love to collect and listen to music, and I love discovering new
bands. My taste in music is constantly evolving, and I listen to
new bands on a constant basis. I'm mostly into underground punk and
metal music (most often from the 80s)- old-school hardcore punk,
Japanese burning spirits hardcore, death, black, and speed metal,
d-beat, crust punk, west coast powerviolence, doom metal- but I
also like rockabilly music, lots of 60s and 70s psychedelica and
hard rock, noise, old-school industrial (like Throbbing Gristle and
Swans), garage rock, noise rock (such as the Jesus Lizard), a
little bit of hip-hop, and a variety of other stuff I can't recall.
If I had to name some bands that are really important to me, they'd
be Black Flag and the Germs.

The six things I could never do without
1. Good music
2. Other people
3. Sometimes, no other people
4. Mountains and woods
5. Dogs
6. Uhhh... Bullet belts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The Apocalypse, nuclear war, corporate totalitarianism, ancient
malign alien gods, gruesome extinction-level pandemics, alienation,
brutal revolutionary violence, haunted ruins older than humankind,
storms of ballistic missiles, spite, abuse, death camps, fanatical
nameless cults, misery, cancer, blind searing hatred, shrieks,
demonic bellowing, long-forgotten horrifying secrets, self-disgust,
conspiracies, murder, torture, defiance, vicious street gangs,
contempt, clouds of fallout, harsh clanging noise, black sorcery,
decapitations, toxic zombies, inability to relate, terror, serial
killers with bizarre fetishes, strange presences lurking in the
deep forest, primitive tribes, human sacrifice, unreasonable
explosions of incandescent rage, mind control, hideous mutations,
and/or the total irreversible collapse of civilizations
On a typical Friday night I am
At work, or failing that, probably listening to music or watching a
movie. I live an exciting lifestyle.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I don't generally think very highly of myself.
You should message me if
Any of the above appeals to you. If you want to talk about music or
movies with me, or shit, I dunno', trade book recommendations? If
you're going to 4 star me or something like that, don't. Just send
me a message instead.
