I am intellectual, goofy, and kind.
My Self-Summary
Simply put, I'm a nice guy. I’m also well educated, well employed,
smart enough to say so and humble enough to admit I’m wrong. I’m a
bit goofy, but have a great sense of humor. I'm outgoing in that I
start conversations with random anyone in Wegmans, but I'm usually
too shy to ask you out in front of your friends.
I don't see myself sticking-out in a bar full of average dudes, but
I'm the one you want sitting accross from you in a casual
restaurant after work. I shine in mostly-sober settings or in
one-on-one/personal-time. And hopefully you'll find that I'm not
bad looking, either!
I'm fairly traditional in that I like to hold your hand and walk
you places, I open doors, and I won't argue over who gets to wear
the apron. I'm kind of an oaf in that I won't notice that your hair
is 3-millimeters shorter than it was yesterday or that you lost 2
pounds. But I will tell you that your hair looks nice and that your
hip feels extra good today.
I watch very little television, mostly ignore pop culture, don’t
much use a cell phone, and I don't have an I-pod. Without these, I
can face the day with an open mind and better appreciate the good
things around me. I do enjoy a good movie, but this isn't how I
typically spend my time alone.
So what about you? The thing I most admire about you is the way you
treat yourself and others with down-to-earth kindness and respect.
You’re smart(er than me), sweet, a little on the shy side, but you
standup for yourself. You’re a beautiful person who loves being
treated like a lady just as you enjoy squishing mud between your
toes. If any of this sounds familiar, then I look forward to
hearing from you!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a civil engineer who would rather be a rock star. Either way, I
intend to use the skills I develop to improve our world.
I’m really good at
Thinking, caring, processing and
kissing, and I can prove all of
these!
I'm a trained problem solver, good with a map, and have great
orientation in strange cities. I'm very musical, play many
instruments, and am good at putting
music together (need to find more time for
this).
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably nothing. I don't think I stick out in a crowd of people.
But if someone watched me for a minute, they'd discover a great
smile and friendly personality with a sarcastic/goofy sense of
humor.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Reading:
Ode Magazine
is the best out there. It's full of good news and positive
inspiration from around the world (rich and poor countries alike).
I read mostly nonfiction, mostly about issues related to
sustainable
development.
Movies/TV:
My alltime favorite move is Forest Gump. Others that make me feel
good include Caddyshack, Happy Gilmore, and Ghostbusters. I don't
watch much television, and really don't watch movies, either, when
I'm alone. But both are sometimes a nice way to unwind with someone
special.
Music:
I listen to all sorts of stuff, but my musical soul is stuck in the
90's (grunge/alternative rock). My most listened to bands include
U2, Pearl Jam, Collective Soul, and Stone Temple Pilots. Music I
own ranges from Mozart and Jesus Christ Superstar to Sevendust and
Type-O-Negative.
Food:
I'm not a picky eater, but definately appreciate good food. I spent
a bit of time in California where
Mexican became a favorite. I mostly cook
for myself and do alright. I'm not a gourmet chef by any stretch of
the imagination, but I can throw something together that's pretty
good for you and you'll want to eat. I don't have a diet, per say,
but I am concious of what I eat, and take care to eat well so I'll
feel great.
The six things I could never do without
The obvious necessities, snow, sunshine, trees, guitars, and my
very cozy bed.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think for a living, and spend a huge chunk of my thinking time
solving other peoples' problems. I'm a huge daydreamer full of my
own ideas that mostly sit on the back-burner. I think a lot about
developing a better world, and need to focus more on actually
following through with this. And of course, there's all the
personal day-to-day static like "I need to do laundry" and "I need
to find a cute, sweet girl who cares about something and kiss her."
On a typical Friday night I am
I have a great circle of friends and grab a beer with them once
every or every other weekend. I'm not huge into the bar scene and
do much better in sober settings where I don't need to be a total
mockery to be noticed. Not that I'm not a total mockery from time
to time, but I tend to be fairly well composed. So a Friday night
can range from going out in Armory Square to going out in Wegmans
to chilling with a
guitar before falling asleep.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I return favors. Yes, those favors.
