One thing I can say for certain is that I have a hard time
describing myself in the abstract; everything comes out sounding
cheesy and ambiguous. I prefer to describe specific things I've
done and let readers sort it out on their own.
I joined this site back when it was named TheSpark and was just a
collection of hilarious tests. I remember the first personality
test I took on there; my persona was the "Helper who finds missing
children over the internet." Now I am apparently the "Slow Dancer"
which I find ironic because, although I do
ballroom dance, it tends to be
anything but slow.
I love watching other people perform in plays, concerts, musicals,
opera, etc. My favorite musical is
Little Shop of Horrors,
though my friend just recently introduced me to the soundtrack for
Bat Boy
The Musical which I really want to see now.
On the flip side, I don't perform because I get terrible stage
fright. Last year I made the mistake of getting front-row seats to
a
Cirque du
Soleil show and, of course, got dragged up onto the stage by
the clowns about halfway through. Pure adrenaline was probably the
only thing that kept me from freezing up, but in hindsight it was a
lot of fun and I certainly don't regret it.
I tend to pace when on the phone, writing a serious email, or
thinking hard about some other sort of personal interaction... and
erratically at that, not just in a straight line. When I was
younger I used to leap between the couches and chairs in our living
room, without touching the floor, when on the phone. I frequently
didn't even realize I was doing it until my mom yelled at me to
stop.
I am a better listener than a talker and I love the chance to prove
it by hunting down the perfect, thoughtful gift for people I care
about. I also really enjoy going out of my way to help people, be
it an early morning ride to the airport or buying them a flower or
ice cream to cheer them up after a rough day.

I like
ballroom dancing; in particular
Lindy Hop. I am
taking weekly lessons at
Swing Central in Redwood
City.
I have a 12-gallon saltwater
aquarium in my office. Its primary
occupants are a clownfish named Captain Awesome, an anemone named
Moe, and a cleaner shrimp named Mr. Whiskers.
