Things are going well. I've been working freelance for NPR and Esquire magazine, and I don't have a boss or a day job. I spend all day at the coffee shop writing. I'm working on my fourth novel.
If you want to know about my journey from NYC to TX, you can read this essay I wrote about it:
I haven't updated my location because I live in a small town, and I feel like it might invite headaches. I'm hoping to travel a lot.
I also go to the gym sometimes, or go running. And I eat a lot of peanut m&ms. And I'm really into architecture.
I like old movies. Especially old musicals, comedies, and noir films from the 30s and 40s. I am desperately in love with Ginger Rogers. I promise, I'm straight.
Here is the best scene from any movie ever: http://youtu.be/Z-2r3zzZYgA
As far as music goes, I listen to a lot of Coltrane and Mingus and Charlie Parker. I also like Uncle Tupelo. And Bob Wills. And Solomon Burke. Sometimes when I go running I listen to "Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio and pretend I'm a werewolf on the loose.
I don't watch much TV. Not being pretentious. I'm just busy. I would watch TV with you if you want.
