My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I game. Cards, but not poker--Magic: the Gathering. I play professionally, though writing about it is my real job.

I love what I do, and I'm always delighted to explain exactly what that entails and why at great length. If you're not delighted with your life, I imagine my incessant exuberance could get tiresome fairly quickly. I'm prone to an overwhelming childlike glee at just how well everything tends to work out for me.

Incidentally, I'm very firmly ENTJ if the Myers Briggs stuff interests you. Almost everything I've read about the type is basically an exact fit for me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I spend a huge portion of my time out of town, mostly traveling all around the world to compete in tournaments, but I've become so accustomed to travel that I also like to take vacations when I don't have a tournament for a few weeks because it feels odd to stay at home for so long.

I'm out of town probably around 40 weekends a year. I've filled my passport, and added more pages. I'm potentially interested in a travel partner, but they would need to be capable of entertaining themselves for days wherever I was traveling to, although I could provide huge groups of fun people to hang out with in the evenings. If you're just looking to discuss travel, I know a lot about booking things and all sorts of places.

I'm in love with an asexual girl who I've been in a relationship with for ten years. I expect to continue to have her in my life indefinitely, but I don't know that she'll always be my primary partner--we live in the same city now, but not in the same house, and I only see her around twenty hours a week if I'm lucky. I want to have children some day and she doesn't, so I'm interested in meeting someone else eventually.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm most skilled at playing games, and possibly cooking.

I'm most talented at math and science type thinking, particularly logical reasoning and problem solving.

I'm also pretty good at pretending that shameless enthusiasm is a suitable substitute for skill at dancing, but unfortunately, not at singing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not entirely sure. My best feature is almost certainly my hands.

More likely, people probably notice that I move and carry myself differently than other people.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Time Traveler's Wife, probably some graphic novels, maybe Fables, Sandman, Preacher, HPMoR.

Movies: The Princess Bride, Finding Neverland, The Pirates of the Caribbean (first)

Shows: Firefly, The Wire, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, Veronica Mars, Community, Skins, Justified, Shameless, The West Wing, Buffy, Angel, Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Gravity Falls

Music: I've fallen out of the habit of listening to music, except for random radio stations when I drive. I tend to mostly like rock and pop these days, but with increasingly little taste.

Food: Thai: Coconut milk based curries, Indian: naan, any vegetable curry, Italian: eggplant parmesan, pizza (especially Chicago style), pasta with vegetables, Mexican: guacamole, burritos, enchiladas, chili rellenos. Also bagels. This is also a list of most of the things I cook. Edit: I've been moving closer to a vegan diet. I eat eggs, but I've been completely avoiding dairy in my cooking, and I'm looking to avoid it more when I eat out as well.

Games: Magic: the Gathering, Agricola, Dungeon Lords
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Games, friends, family, internet, spices/a good kitchen, love.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Games, planning activities with friends, cooking/what to make to eat, the few people who are important to me.

Also, emotional, intellectual, sexual/gender identity development of young people and how to help them develop better, particularly as it pertains to radical education reform and proper parenting. Relatedly, the role of teamwork and games in learning.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Gaming--playing cards or a board game, maybe a party game with a group of friends. Either that, or arriving in a city I've just flown to and meeting up with people for dinner and then making my way to a hotel.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I imagine that it's remarkably easy to figure out who I am and a lot of information about me based on this profile and a little skill at using the internet to gather information. I'm pretty comfortable with that.

I sound interesting to you, I guess. I'm pretty open to trying new things, particularly if I think I might get a good story or memory out of it.

If you like to cook (vegetarian) or dance, that would be a decent start--a place for a little common ground. If you like board games, that would be even better.

Even better still would be if you have enough time and money that you're looking to travel regularly, and just looking for an excuse and someone to go with. I travel a lot and I'm generally busy while I'm out of town, but as long as you're capable of entertaining yourself in interesting locations, having someone to travel with might be nice.
