Epiphany: from the Greek word epiphaneia, "manifestation, striking appearance", an experience of sudden, enlightening and striking realization...
What is your latest epiphany? Or... Have you had an epiphany today?
May update: A 5-7-5 Haiku invitation..
You write a haiku,
About what you see herein.
Mine, to you, follows.
When I was first introduced to the story of Christopher Columbus it planted a mental SEED of "outside-the-box" thinking. As a child, Christopher watched the ships return to port. He noticed that the ships appeared on the horizon from tip of mast, to mast, then to full view of the boat. This observation gave him the IDEA that the world might not be flat, but that it might be round. Recognizing that the economy of the world was heavily influenced by spices, he tried to maximize the efficiency of the spice trade by reducing the length of the route to India, the source of many lucrative spices. He came up with the idea that going West instead of East that it might be a shortcut. At the time he was thought of as crazy for going the "wrong" way. But by going in a direction that was DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS, based on something he knew in his heart, he discovered America. (One theory of Americas discovery anyway) The metaphor for this online "dating" is the same even if its just a good story. What are you WILLING to do that's outside the box? What RISK will you TAKE to go a different direction? One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting DIFFERENT RESULTS. How has your experience been? Is there anything that you are doing that has been getting the same results over and over again? Will you be like Christopher Columbus and follow what you KNOW in your knower?
3/2014 Update "Chan Su Jing" When reeling silk from the cocoon of a silkworm one must not pull too hard or the thread breaks. If one doesn't pull hard enough the thread won't unwind from the cocoon. If there is stopping and starting the thread will break...
If this makes any sense then lets unwind the thread a bit more and see what we can weave together.
For those who prefer a more mechanical approach to profiles... I did a stint in United States Navy as a boatswains mate on board an LST. My undergraduate education was in computer science but most of my career path has been in retail management sales and sales management until now.
Currently I am working as a licensed acupuncturist and studying for a doctoral degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
If Heisenberg( not Walter White ;-) ) was correct, and we are not sure that he was, then I am more interested in the directional vector rather than the position, metaphorically speaking.
