I am fiercely curious and love to learn. Current events are critical. Currently taking Tai Chi and a New Yorker study group. Will attend Roger Eberts Film festival this year again.

I'm interested in guys with depth who are extremely self-aware and "awake" and unflinchingly pursue personal growth. Multiple topics interest me - politics, medicine, law, science, psychology, sociological issues, spirituality.

Intellectual engagement and reparte are essential. I am engaged with the world around me. I am an artist, journalist and love creative writing, particularly prose.

I have a deep social conscience and would want to be with someone who is equally committed and generous to others.

I'm also quite social and outgoing. I love to have fun, laugh, and be silly, too. I have the ability to find joy in the small things which light up my day. I have good and dear friends who give my life much meaning.

I have been a journalist and artist - but also have a strong background in science. I am most content when engaged in a creative project and when with friends. Lively discussions are fun, too.

Helping people feel safe with me, accepting others, creating ambiance/mood through visual arts and lighting, analyzing films and stories, perusing vast quantities of research to distill salient facts...

Favorite all time book, "Their Eyes Are Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston; others, "This One Thing I know Is True" by Wally Lamb, "A Prayer For Owen Meany" by John Irving. Foreign films, "As It Is In Heaven" about the redemption of a gifted pianist. "Green Papya" and other foreign films; recently reading The New Yorker, love the NYT, Glen Greenwald, Nate Silver.
