My Self-Summary

Hey,

Here's just a short bit about me - I'll fill some more of this in later. I'm just here looking to see if I can meet some new people, and if anything more develops, all the better.

During the day I work in an office (cubicle and all, sigh), and in the evenings and weekends I enjoy working out, reading, sports, hiking, and all of the normal stuff that almost everyone likes. I'm not a big fan of bars, clubs, and those sorts of places, and as I don't attend church either, it gets difficult to meet people in social settings... hence... thought I'd come here and see if I can find some like-minded people.

Nice to meet you.

What I’m doing with my life

I really hate to say working... but I guess it *is* sort of important. Working, learning, relaxing, having fun with friends when I can - nothing earth shattering, which is just as well, because... well, a shattered earth is a bad thing.

I’m really good at

Being humble, apparently...

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, my quietness, and occasionally a little smirk.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books... oh, too numerous to mention - mostly science fiction, fantasy, and technical and/or anthropological nonfiction.
Music - 80's rock, some classical, most anything but rap/country.
Food - Mexican, Italian, Indian, Asian - pretty much anything but raw fish (not a sushi fan, but I *do* like other Japanese food).
Movies - I'm pretty picky about movies, but some favorites include The Shawshank Redemption, the Bourne movies, Star Wars (give me a break on this one - I'm a child of the 70's and 80's!), and National Treasure (sort of weird to admit that, but it's silly, fun, and has some fun historical facts thown in!)

The six things I could never do without

Friendship, Books, the Internet, Hope, Simplicity, The Ability to Count

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The future, politics, stories, how to build that next program I need at work.

On a typical Friday night I am

Pretty quiet, really - usually relaxing, watching a movie or poking around online.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't have a cell phone. People thing that this is weird... but I just haven't needed one yet. Perhaps someday :D.

You should message me if

You find me utterly fascinating and/or intriguing... okay, let's not set the bar that high... how about "if you feel like it?"
