My self-summary
I'm an easy-going guy (no, really. I know, I know every profile starts that way...), and somewhat of a chameleon. I'd be as comfortable in a tux at the symphony sipping champagne as I would in t-shirt and jeans at a Brewers game eating a hot dog and drinking a beer. In either setting, and all in between, I can hold my own in conversation. I like to hit up the bars and clubs partying all night at times, and yet I'd love to curl up on the couch with that special someone watching a movie as well. I'm always ready for whatever, and yet I expect nothing. I like spirited discourse, expanding my horizons, and enjoying all that life has to offer. I'll try just about anything once (within reason), and pride myself on seeing life for both the forest and the trees. I have a passion for technology, my career, music, and knowledge. I've been called a "Renaissance Man" and "One in a Million," and yet I don't feel special because I just try to live life the way I feel it should be experienced. Arrogant/Understanding, Compassionate/Intractible, Sarcastic/Sincere, Open-Minded/Stubbourn. I am all these things and none. I am a man unbalanced, a man untamed. And yet I need someone to tip the scales and hold me down at times. Maybe that's you, if you're up for a challenge! I suppose the rewards will be whatever we make of them.

UPDATE: I've added a new catch phrase to my repetoire of advice, "Life's gonna knock you down more often than you can imagine. There's no reason to do it to yourself."

I am easy-going (for whatever that means), empathetic, and a realist
What I’m doing with my life
Ummm... Living it? :)
I’m really good at
- Playing guitar (and soon keyboard/piano)
- Putting the seat down when I'm done. :) And,... wait for it...washing my hands! [Female crowd goes wild...] :O (A private, non-scientific poll by my friends and I of both women and men prove that washing hands after "doing your thing" is not the norm! How nasty is that!? Interestingly enough, this poll found that more women don't wash than men, although it was only spread across a few bars, so it may be more the crowd than a trend in society as a whole. Still, you'll understand if I don't shake your hand at a bar!)
- Making cocktails - Not quite flipping bottles like Tom Cruise, but I'm pretty confident you'd enjoy what I put in front of you...
- Cooking. And no, that doesn't mean mac and cheese. It means I know the difference between meat being cooked med. rare, medium, and well done [which is really just a charcoal brickette, let's be honest], pasta that is al dente, and what constitutes too much salt. I also make a mean grilled cheese (with three cheeses, non of which say "Kraft" on the label!). I can also make a mean Cheerios (Milk and Cheerios, in a bowl, possibly enhanced with a little sugar, for those who can't cook!). :)
-I'm also fairly good at golf, but what male old enough to pick up a club and swing it at a ball doesn't think that?! But I can hold my own on the course.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my eyes. They're really big (someone once said they're like Yoda), and they've got great coloring (if I do say so myself!). Upon further inspection, women usually notice that I have unusually long eyelashes for a guy, and seem to love commenting that they wish they had my eyelashes. I take the "compliment" graciously and politely, as I understand what THEIR eyelashes mean to them, but I could go the rest of my life never hearing that compliment again. In any case, the whole ocular package is unique and noteworthy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book - Toss up between Gatsby and Catcher in the Rye

Movie - I'm a movie buff, so this is hard to say. Some would include The Usual Suspects, The Star Wars Movies (come on, I'm a guy), Heat, Batman Begins, Scent of a Woman, Platoon, Blood Diamond, The Aviator to name a few. I like movies that make me think, have REASONABLE plot twists, some element of mystery to try to figure out, etc. Action movies are always good if I feel like wasting some time, and the occasional Rom-Com if I've got company over.

Music - Well, "I like all types of music," may be cliche, but I'm pretty diverse. I prefer Blues and Jazz (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Hendrix, Miles Davis), maybe a little R&B (Think John Legend not Lil' John!) at home. Sometimes its a little classic rock (Zepplin, Clapton) mixed in for variety. Top 40 in the car and out on the town, Classical if I need to think. I've never been a fan of country, but I'm warming up to it as it crosses more into mainstream rock. I try to appreciate all music for some characteristic. For example, Blues music pulls at your heart while top 40 pulls at your feet! Celine Dion makes me want to pull out my eardrums, so that's probably the only style of music I can't appreciate!

Food - A nice filet mignon rubbed with freshly cracked peppercorns, wrapped in a strip of bacon and grilled to just between rare and medium rare. ABSOLUTELY NO A-1 OR OTHER CONDIMENTS! Side it with some cottage fries and maybe some green beans or asparagus. Mmmm, it doesn't get much better than that.
The six things I could never do without
- A computer
- An active internet connection
- At least one of my guitars
- Food
- Water
- Shelter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How much time everyone would save/have if that person in line would put down the phone for 45 seconds while in line at the store and complete their transaction. Over the course of a lifetime, we're probably talking years wasted!
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on how the week went! Usually its either spending time with friends or staying in and decompressing (watching a movie, playing a video game, something like that). In either case, I'm probably enjoying a beer. And, its sure to be a hoot!

[Disclaimer: Use of the word "hoot" is strictly for comedic purposes and does not represent or imply any "red-neck" tendancies]
