It's difficult to be objective in describing oneself sometimes, but here's a crude stab at that Fat Ham: An eclectic and somewhat paradoxical combination of diverse talents, perceptions, sensitivities and insatiable curiosities, whose capabilities run the gamut from directing irresistible, unwavering brute force against immovable objects, to a desire for complete, sweet surrender with trusted company. Someone rather uncompromising regarding ethics and whatever else is deemed important. Desiring of it all and not ready to settle for much less.
I stay completely outside the Punch and Judy show of what is referred to as "democracy" and politics, but consider it amusing to watch and comment on. Kinda/sorta like people who follow professional wrestling. They root for one brute or another, but they know it's all completely fake and that the winner has been determined beforehand. However, for some twisted reason perhaps unknown to themselves, they still find watching the hype and drama supremely entertaining.
I'm a very sincere, down to earth guy who likes to put honesty and integrity above most other things in life. I love the simple pleasures in life. Relaxed times with good friends & family, good food and good music. I am more of a one on one person than a mass audience partier. A real nature lover, I enjoy the beach, the ocean and especially forests, lakes and streams.
I also have a sense of adventure and am looking for someone else who has one too. I like traveling and exploring new places and experiences. A bit of a rebel at heart, I have always liked to color outside the lines in the coloring book, travel the path least trodden, cut my own path through the forest.
These days, my biggest passion in life is music, so in addition to my work life and business ventures, I have also been a pro musician for many years. I am fairly active here in the local New Orleans music scene. In the future, I will be shifting my priorities more toward the family and relationships aspects of my life.
I am tall, sarcastic, smart, yet dumb, and impossibly groovy!
My philosophy of life can be summed up by the following story:
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
