My self-summary
I studied classics in college, worked at a groupon clone for pregnant women, and then moved to China on a whim. I'm not sure if that really sums me up, but I guess that's how I'd have to introduce myself in an elevator.
What I’m doing with my life
I ask myself the same question every day
I’m really good at
Being a friend, brother, and son
The first things people usually notice about me
Not sure, you’d have to ask them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot…so here’s a random sampling of thins I’ve read in the last few years: lots of Tom Robbins, The Way of Zen, Rules for Radicals, The Tao of Wu, Heartbreaking Work of a Staggering Genius, On the Road, Douglas Adams, and much more.

Movies: Fight Club, The Usual Suspects, The Big Lebowski, Snatch, Waking Life, The Good the Bad and The Ugly, Ghost Dog, Seven Samurai, Pulp Fiction & other Tarantino movies. Also, as with food I can enjoy the highest reaches of an artistic film, as well as the mundane entertainment of John McClain jumping onto a fighter jet…common, that’s fun to watch (we all know what action movie I’m referring to? Hint: yippie ki yay m*therf*cker).

Music: My musical tastes have taken the many twists and turns I imagine most individuals experience from childhood through to their adult years. With a heavy initial exposure to Jazz and Motown, I developed a love for classic rock early on. Since then I’ve become more and more interested in different types of rhythm based music-reggae, hip hop-message rap-and electronic based music like trance. Though I will always love the classics, in recent years I’ve tried to focus on learning about current music. With that in mind, a short taste of my musical tastes: Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Damnian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Talking Heads, Cake, The Strokes, Most Def, Common, Lyrics Born, Atmosphere, Outkast, Boot Camp Click, Gang Starr, Infected Mushroom, Deadmou5, Armin Van Buuren, Phoenix, Red Hot Chilli Pepers, George Clinton, cetera

Food: I grew up in a household that loves to cook & eat well. So I’ve been exposed to a lot of good food, and I’m capable of trying almost anything. I like most foods too—and China finally broke my aversion to mushrooms! These days I’m a big fan of Thai, Vietnamese, Indian but I’ll always love some good French, Italian, or American food. Also, paradoxically I can be both a food snob, and enjoy pretty basic non-exceptional cuisine at the same time. Big fan of spice.

TV: 30 Rock, Entourage, South Park, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Chapelle show, Man vs. Wild, most discovery/nat geo programs on nature
The six things I could never do without
Essentials for Life-food water etc
Essentials for Mind- Books, art, conversation etc
Essentials for body-exercise, some competitive activity
Essentials for soul-Meaningful human contact, meaningful time alone
Shades-yes, I still rock aviators on occasion
I could do without most of these things, but I'd rather not
On a typical Friday night I am
Fridays/Weekends can go in many different directions. I wouldn’t say any of them are typical, but there are a few ways I’m likely to spend this time off:
a) Exercise/ personal time reading, etc
b) Dinner and hanging with friends
c) Out at a bar with some people, yonfu lu or a few other places get frequently visited
d) Club-the occasional dance frenzy, or a great DJ being in town
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well I’m on this site for one. Ask me about the full moon, maybe I'll tell you.
